Can you really not see how "nutter with a knife" trivialises it? Couple of nutjobs with knives killed Lee Rigby, nutter with a transit van driving about near Finsbury Park. Few nutjobs in Gaza with guns and a bit of power, the bloody plonkers.

Palming it off as a "nutter" clearly tries to remove all seriousness of it.

So in an alternate universe where the Southport killer was found to be a “nutter”, you wouldn’t think it was as serious as an attack?

In defence of Grendel he might just be a boomer who doesn’t understand how easy this stuff is to access (well probably does now it’s in this thread) and how common it is for edgy teenage boys to download this sort of stuff.

But now he’s had that explained to him and tried to compare the evidentiary level with Tommy Mair I think it’s obvious he’s just scrabbling around for a reason to be racist about Muslims. Which we have no evidence this kid even was. And even if he was we have no evidence he committed this crime as an Islamist attack rather than just being a nutter who happened to be Muslim.

I assume we now recognise him attacking a classmate with a hockey stick at 13 as an Islamist terror attack too.

God the world is so monumentally stupid these days. Bring back the internet before eternal September.

Then a few days later some c**t drives a car into a crowd in London and.... silence.

Wasn’t the Germany attack an Athiest who thought Germany was too nice to immigrants?

They do this every time then it goes into a little confirmation bucket in their head even if it’s later disproven so they can go on about how it’s alway Muslims. It’s all so transparent.

Getting outraged at calling an 18 year old a kid is a new one though. You’ve got to recognise the level of innovation it takes to stay this angry for this long for absolutely no reason. Makes Malc in the politics thread look like an amateur.

The issue is that when it's not a white person, you get people like torch jump in (note that he doesn't post in the threads about white people committing the crimes) and that's why it goes on and on.

It's the same as when it was a thread saying "sisu are cunts" where everybody would just shrug and agree but then if there was one saying "the council are cunts" then strangely it would go on for ages.

I would accept this if people didn't go in with 'my thoughts are about the victims'. If they are then the cause shouldn't matter.

Having been mugged and threatened at knife point by a group of black men in Birmingham when I was about 16 I’m very fearful in towns especially around black people
I hate being this person as a black person is no more likely to mug me than a white person and I don’t know people that jm fearful of
Was watching my lad ref at moat house really good game one of the teams was the best u15 if ever seen but there was a veterans team on the pitch after and I felt so vulnerable solely because they were nonwhite

I’ve fought this since being a teenager and have lots of fabulous friends who are of every race and every religion and none but I still get scared and fearful

Imagine being told it was ok to be fearful of people just because of the their race or religion or none and that I should act on it

That looks likely to be one of the recommendations. They were talking on R4 this morning about two step verification online where you need to upload ID and then appear on webcam to confirm it’s you buying it.

Depressing to hear the counter terrorism chief saying he already knows the outcome of the inquiry because it’s the same every time: services underfunded and not communicating or working effectively because of that. Said he’s not for expanding the definition of terror because this isn’t terrorism and it would balloon his workload and make actual terrorists harder to catch. I think his words were “we can do that but it will be extremely expensive”
