He’s beaten several teams on terrible runs of form. He’s scraped a couple of close games against Bristol and QPR. First half against Watford aside I’m yet to come away from a game thinking we’ve played well tbh.

We're miles off the top 4 currently, as are most the league, but if we can get 5th or 6th then there's always a chance.
And maybe by the time we play 3 of them at the end of March we'll have closed that gap a bit.

He took over a team hovering around the relegation zone and 'scraping wins' against play off contenders is bad? We're doing what we have to do to win, we actually look streetwise for once. I'm also liking the redemption arc of a defender who cost £4 million quid that would have been bombed out and flushed down the drain under previous management, as if we can afford to just write that off.

Most of our recent wins have been against sides in the top half of the table. Yes we lost to Leeds. But they're flying and scoring goals for fun. We lost against Ipswich who are a Prem side but the difference was the quality of a few of their players and we were missing two of if not our two best players.
If he was clueless we wouldn't have climbed the table so quickly.

It’s not though. Those who think Lampard is the second coming of Pep thought Robins was “finished” and we were in for an awful season so are amazed that we’re not still down the bottom. Those who thought the squad would generally perform at around the level the stats suggested they should be aren’t.

It is like when people were moaning that we drew to Millwall as the worst performance of the season. They thought us losing at home to Derby or Sheff Weds was better because of shots on target or stats.

Most are judging lampard based on his results and using the same set of players that Robins had. Clearly he has improved us and the position. What part opf that do you fail to see?

Robins was finished and no one thinks Lampard is the second coming of Pep. He's doing a much better job than Robins with the same group of players however... same group minus some big injuries i should say. You can even tell the players prefer it under Lampard and can find lots of comments on the level of the training from them.

It doesn't count. It's much better when we lose to Swansea, Sheff Wed and Derby at home but we have a few tame shots to get some stats up.

He called me a tiki taka FIFA fan because I said I liked how lampard talked about tactics. He made a joke I expected 4 nil wins every week under robins
Now he is saying he expects us to smash teams every week otherwise not much has changed. Whilst also saying our wins come against poor teams whilst also saying all teams in league can show promotion form!

We looked awful under MR and weren’t getting results either. The difference is MR had burned through more games.

I wasn't happy MR was sacked and would have given him more time and I was underwhelmed by the appointment of FL and would rather have appointed Eustace or Rosenior. We have improved inder FL, I thought we would under MR, and there have been noticeable tweaks in the way we play, eg one of CBs taking ball forward or breaks from MVE onto through balls, but the football has not been brilliant at times but it's not fair to properly judge FL until Haji, EMC & Sheaf are back. FL has made a couple of howlers and seems to have got away scot free with some of the MR out brigade on here, eg the high press against Leeds after they had just put 7 past Cardiff playing the same way and doing nothing at HT against Portsmouth when he should have taken Binks & JDS off. I am hoping the football improves when Haji etc are back and we revert to a 433/4231 & I hope we start next season without the likes of JDS, Collins, Binks & Lati and have a better balanced squad, then it will be the time to really judge FL.

the media are in overdrive repairing his reputation. I agree - I don’t think he’s doing anything special, but I’m still convinced he does enough here with a decent squad to repair that reputation and he’ll he off.
I’ve said it before - I don’t think Lampard will be here long enough to be a bad manager

You can judge him now on what he's done so far, which is lift a team from down the bottom of the league to 3 points from the play offs. Some of you are hard to please, it can only be Robins cope, i know some will hate it being said, but that's genuinely all it can be. A complete inability to accept that King was right to do what he did.

Looks like you've been watching too much Jackanory.
I feared for our short term future after getting rid of Robins then taking ages to finalise the signing of Lampard. I was also worried about what would happen if our results didn't improve. But after beating mainly top half sides we're clearly in promotion form.
It isn't just down to Lampard. The coaches have done a good job. But let's put it another way. I'm a lot happier now than I was before and after Robins left.

I have said positive & negative things about FL but I did about MR. The football was poor this season under MR apart from a couple of games but it has been poor under FL too. I am now more on the side that sacking MR was the right thing to do so some of your response is wrong, I was just giving FL the benefit of doubt to get the squad he wants before we can properly judge him.

Fair enough, i think you really have to dig for negatives on Lampard atm though. What he's done with the team so far has been pretty outstanding imo.
