I think we've probably had a Coventry born player in the first team squad for about 30 consecutive years.
Can't help but think it's getting a bit over the top that he's from cov now, is it because he's said himself he's a Liverpool fan in other interviews so now going ott about it?
At the same time if you asked for a sausage batch they might just think you want a lot of sausages.Batch is the right word.
If you ask for a sausage roll you get a sausage roll
if you ask for a corn cob you get corn on the cob
There is no confusion with asking for a batch.
At the same time if you asked for a sausage batch they might just think you want a lot of sausages.
And the response would be...... "of course I want a lot of sausages, please put them IN a batch"
To be fair, I worked with a bloke from the Wirral and they say it there
Apparently makes a cracking cup of tea, so FL signed him up.Chuffed for him. Lampard wouldn't have signed him unless he thought he could add something.
He calls it a batch![]()
Great watch. Being the same age as Paterson, it reminds me how that growing up with the mass exposure from Sky/ITV of Premier League/Champions League football every week, even as die hard Cov fans, there was players such as Gerrard, Henry, Lampard, Owen, Fowler that you’d adore and thus build attraction to their club. I played football from 7-17 years old with 90% Cov fans that had season tickets and still have them 20 years later and a number of them, as children, wore Arsenal or Liverpool tops. That's a good watch, thanks for posting.
I’m getting really sick of all the hype about how much he is looking forward to playing for CCFC in front of the home fans.Yeah, it's getting a bit tiresome now. Saying that, I do hope the 'He calls it a batch' chant mentioned in this thread becomes reality
I’m getting really sick of all the hype about how much he is looking forward to playing for CCFC in front of the home fans.
If it was genuinely an ambition, he could have achieved it several times over the past few years, rather than goung to other clubs. We are just his last pay day. Epitome of a mercenary - as are all players I suppose.
Did we ever put any bids/offers for him?I’m getting really sick of all the hype about how much he is looking forward to playing for CCFC in front of the home fans.

The turning us down thing; can anyone actually confirm that as fact?
I've only ever lived in Coventry and Northampton, and the first time in Northampton I was looking at a chippy and saw they sold a "sausage roll".Why not call it a roll? What would you serve me if I asked for a sausage roll?
I love baps, but it isn't appreciated if you bite them too hard.
COB? Close of business. That can cause people to have a cob on.
Batch for me. A collection of items put together.
Precisely.Did we ever put any bids/offers for him?
For most of his playing career we were below his level and didn't have a pot to piss in. We didn't even have our own ground for some of it.
Not as a CCFC player though, has he?Don’t know where that hype has come from, he’s played in front of the home fans at the CBS many times!
Whether he’s from Cov or not, adding some experience down the middle of the pitch at little risk and low wages, is a good addition. He’s always played well against us, let’s see if that added energy continues when he gets some minutes.
The surname Paterson has Scottish and Irish origins, and means "son of Patrick" or "father's son".Anyone know where Paterson is from?
Henley GreenAnyone know where Paterson is from?
As I was sayingHis fitness could be at any level, you have no idea?
If he's been training with us for a week then the staff will have a good idea though.
Disagree, he looked like he hadn't played for a while but there was plenty of positivesWay off it
Not Henley Green as the club claimAnyone know where Paterson is from?
