Can't argue with that. We don't need a hedge fund or a joint venture company bleeding our club dry.

Buying the Higgs share will be a doddle for any owner of the club who isn't SISU. Buying the council's share will be a lot harder I think given the ridiculous comments of certain councillors-recall one of them phoning in on CWR recently to state that they don't want to sell it regardless of who owns the club. Ludicrous thing to say.

Yeah agree. That was Kevin Maton.

Agree, the Higgs share will be handed over on a plate pretty much. I don't know why the council wouldn't be keen to sell, as long as they were confident the buyers were competent and had good intentions why wouldn't they? You'd have thought they'd want rid of the headache, and they'd still own the freehold.

I wouldn't be so sure they wouldn't do a deal, one councillor's opinion doesn't mean a dictatorship. The fans will hopefully help SISU finally get their coats and the same fans could heavily pressure the council the same to do what's right for the long term survival of the club. I would also expect any new owners to run the club in an economically responsible fashion with supporter involvement wherever possible.

Nah, obviously not. A multi-layered joint venture company. Not much difference really.

C'mon mate - always enjoy your banter, but there's a world of difference between ACL (who have a public structure and clear records regarding who owns what), and SISU, Arvo, Otium EG etc. who have multiple layered companies, some based offshore, and manage funds for which there is no clear beneficial owner.

Would have to disagree here, sorry.

The big difference is that SISU are vultures who specialise in buying up struggling companies to try and squeeze money out of them. As far as I am aware, ACL's business is restricted to The Ricoh Arena. World of difference if you ask me!

I guess. They're just squeezing money out of Coventry City rather than a host of companies. Obviously, ACL aren't as ruthless but they are still doing City no favours.

My point is, neither are any good for us.

Ha! You got me there! Even more similar then, aren't they?! :)

Ah, one day we'll look back on all this and laugh.

Let's just hope we're not stood next to each other in the away end at Bedworth when that day comes, or it may all have gone horribly wrong. ;)

I will go wherever we play next season, but if it's outside of the city of Coventry then I will take a banner with me to all 'home' games, with words on it highlighting to Sisu how disgruntled I am at the stadium situation!

Rubbish. CCFC and ACL both agreed the rent figure with no clause for revaluation. This CCFC's fault for declining flexible rental that was offered.

When CCFC asked for negotiation after relegation (albeit in an arse backwards / unscrupulous way) ACL did not take long in offering a vastly improved rate and payment plan for debt.

Sorry must have been in a coma what exactly has anybody learned in the clubs bias in recent months? Oh and I presume when you say the club you mean Sisu?

Leaned not learned. And no-one has supported SISU, they supported the club in the stance over the stadium. You really need to learn to read properly.

Exactly. I will support the club ten times out of ten. I won't and never will support ACL.

SISU are using CCFC as there tool. If you loved the club so much you would be doing everything and anything to get them out! If that means stopping putting money in the club then so be it

Now, I don't subscribe to that notion. The whole "money starvation" thing is a little skewed in my view. You're just adding to the club's woes.

Got a headache? Then slit your throat. Bingo! No headache.

If they keep losing money then they'll give in eventually. Not a hard way to grasp things. If a company doesn't generate income then it becomes insolvent.

No, it's not a hard thing to grasp. However, I won't add to the financial woes of the club. Fine if you want to do it. Each to their own.

No thanks I'll carry on supporting the club

I know that makes me a really bad person but I just can't help myself.

I don't think their resolve to not sell has been properly tested. Were say Haskell to offer something like £10-20m, which is in my mind too high, they'd be idiots to reject it.

There is an old saying that goes "A dog is not just for christmas, its for life"

This can also be implicated in Football Club terms "Coventry City is not just for the good times, bad times, slightly horrific times, SISU times, but for life"

I swear it could catch on..

If they keep losing money? That's exactly what fans except new owners to do - use their own money to fund losses of ccfc so that we can have a better squad

Next season our squad will be full of kids under SISU. Anyone who thinks different doesn't live in the real world. The club is crippling and is dying day by day whilst SISU are still here

You presume i didnt read your post correctly I did. If people lean towards something they must have information that they didn't have before so what crucial bit of information have they been given in the last few months?

Applies to virtually any fan up and down the country.

So what? Just because other clubs do it doesn't mean we should. This is one of the main reasons we're in this shit. We (and all clubs) shouldn't be reliant on people funding our losses. At the end of the day the investor/owner doesn't gift the club the money, it is an investment/loan which just racks up debt.

This is one of the reasons FFP is being introduced.

It is also crippling because the people of Coventry don't support the club.
