The only thing the Sisu thread de-railers have not mentioned is its all the councils fault !!!!

Just a shame that there are still certain posters who assume everything and get everything totally wrong.

True but even the most objective and even-handed of observers could not conclude anything but that Fisher has been more than a little cavalier about the truth surrounding matters prior to his tenure but about which he must have known all the relevant facts - unless he is a complete incompetent...

I have no problem with anybody calling Fisher incompetent or cavalier with the truth, think the only thing he didn't lie about was that we wouldn't play at The Ricoh, that one surprised me!

It's the free pass given to others as if little innocents in a big mans World that gets to me.

Especially as they are also lauded as super succesful businessmen and financial wizards at the same time.

I think it's brilliant. It gives them a break from standing on corners shouting at buses and the rest of us something to laugh at.

"Deep throat" has so far stitched up Ranson, Hoffman and Elliott with the closing the Academy down bombshell, and now the fact that not making any money on player transfers when those three on the board as well.

Sure an unintended consequence, hoping(with some justification) that it wouldn't get picked up because it doesn't fit the current current worldview.

Lord, could you just refresh my memory as to when "Ranson, Hoffman and Elliot" closed down the acadamy?

Or were you hoping that the fact that it didn't actually close might not "get picked up because it doesn't fit your worldview"?

They were maybe helpless in the face of Onye wanting to keep it open.

Sisu bastards must have overruled them, the poor helpless mites.

It can't be denied that they seriously discussed closing the Academy down, to save costs, and due to alleged vandalism and thefts at the Higgs Centre.

Even to the stage that Mr Coventry himself suggestung that he stage manage it to the fans, obviously because he thought that in the eyes of most fans he could do no wrong.

Seems he is still correct in that assumption.

You can obviously read a lot into a set of minutes.

As you suggest, perhaps we all fit them into our "worldviews".

All I know is that it was proposed - we know not by who - and it didn't happen.

But I guess that's plenty for a "guilty" verdict........

On here it takes an awful lot less than that to go straight to the public lynching to be honest..

the original thread, being fisher lies, the only apposite i would draw is the mantra of Ronseal,
therefore
'Sisu, it doesn't do what it says on the tin'

"Colours may appear different to that on the sample card"... but I never expected Glossy sky blue to turn shitty brown so soon after application- maybe we got the undercoat wrong?

There may be more than two options, but as I see it (in my worldwiev)

Either
The proposal was made by Ranson/Hoffman/Elliott and veto'ed by Igwe - in which case sisu are not that daft and Ranson/Hoffamn/Elliott surely are
Or
The proposal was made by Igwe and voted down by Ranson/Hoffman/Elliot - in which case there were no veto option available to sisu

I 'vote' for the second option.

Or perhaps he was even persuaded that it would be a disastrous move.

Even SISU have to get the odd decision right......

It he way that the PR game has been played the last few years, if they had "saved" the Academy then I'm sure a Coventry Telegraph headline sling the lines of " We saved the Academy from SISU", would have appeared by now.

The Academy appears to be the only thing that all Coventry fans agree is a good thing.

Some spin in that direction could only go down well.

Can we stick to what we know is the truth for once instead of taking a thread off track that you don't like?

So you want to talk about the academy? SISU pulled out of the premises that Higg's had built for them once the plan was together to leave the Ricoh and Coventry. Nothing had been paid for. The pitches hadn't been looked after. There was an agreement that SISU, LTD, Holdings or whatever they were calling themselves at the time to look after all of the fitness equipment and keep it serviced. When they left just about all the equipment was found to not be working.

So SISU/LTD/Holdings or whatever they were called at the time went to the University to use their place. For once the FL told them they were wrong. Everywhere was not up to the standards needed if they wanted to keep getting cash towards the academy. So someone has gone back with their tail between their legs. Not only do they need everything Higgs have done for them to keep the money, but because they have fucked up on their sums for going to Northampton they need more youth players to come through that will be on low wages and also won't count towards FPP.

BTW none of this is alleged.

Or to use your logic - bearing in mind the PR war that TF waged against ACL for example - I'm sure that if SISU had voted down a GH /JE proposal to close the academy, it might have got a couple of hundred mentions by now.

Or is your logic only allowed to work in one direction?

No, I agree. I also stated my money was on option 2 - That it was proposed by Igwe and voted down by Ranson/Hoffman/Elliott. My point is that it kind of debuff Hoffman's claim that the trinity had no power - that sisu through Igwe controlled the show.

What the fuck?

Dropped your pitchfork or something?

Some on here will say almost anything to paint themselves as our intelligentsia, the informed, thoughtful few who buck the trend. But when challenged... they are victims of abuse!

Are you suggesting that all of the documents including board minutes are forgeries??

You must be some sort of Sisu plant alleging that.

We are all speculating, but as I noted earlier Igwe having the deciding vote is not incompatible with him occasionally being open to persuasion.

Show us the proof where you say I am wrong then.

Higgs have shown that they want what is best for our club still after everything that has happened. Yet you know better.

As PR battles go, it has to be said that Sisu have been on the receiving end of a few batterings.

They've wasted an awful lot of money over the years, but whoever their PR firm is has to be the biggest one.

They probably do it for Rolf Harris, Michael Le Vell and Stuart Hall, after being recommeded to them before he died by Jimmy Saville.

Assad is thinking of dropping them, as his crop spraying to help the harvest wasn't spun out as well as he'd have liked.

If I could "like" this post on the iPad I would.
