Providing direct links to the Wasps' website to buy tickets for their first match at the Ricoh.

Not something they do for either CCFC or Cov RFC as far as I can see.

Guess there Is some Logic to this .

They don't exactly have a Data base to rely on email Contact etc .

Sure they do have a database of current ticket buyers...

(probably a more efficiently gathered one than our football club has, tbf!)

We regularly run news stories / links for CCFC season tickets and matchday tickets / offers online and in print. ( Like this one http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...s/coventry-city-scrap-matchday-ticket-7947232 )

We also run paid-for adverts for CCFC, and even did so when they were at Sixfields.

I can't see why we wouldn't let people know how to get hold of tickets for sports events taking place in the city, or take adverts from sports teams in /around the city?

You should run a "get Wasps back to Wycombe" campaign ...just to be consistent of course.

The comments on cet shouldn't ever be taken for anything

"Quite simply - SISU DO ONE. There's only Les Reid and his accolytes who want SISU to get hold of the Ricoh (oh, and Nick, the "neutral" admionistrator and his cronies of Sky Blues Talk -mention SISU OUT on there and you are almost lynched, which is why I left the forum; support the club by all means BUT NOT THE OWNERS)."

The majority of their readers are not bothered about CCFC or Wasps.

Nothing is going to change Wasps making a business decision to survive.
It is a do or die decision for them and the market will decide.

Can't understand why some CCFC are so bothered.

Despite the fact that there will be a few pitchfork wielding locals throwing rocks at the moon I think there will be more welcoming something that raises the profile of the city. Mind you this is Coventry

We wrote around 40 articles between first revealing the talks and the deal officially being announced.

If we're still being accused of not "asking questions" after that, you'll have to forgive me if I grow tired of defending our integrity.

We're not perfect. But we do our best!

So has the loan gone to wasps or does it reside with the council until officially 100% is granted to them? A question that impacts EVERY taxpayer.

What did wasps bid for Higgs?

Why will Higgs and the council not release documents to enable a sensible bid to be made?

I would suggest Simon any journalist with a shred of integrity and self respect would want answers to these questions.

I an sure you have these qualities so have asked them and will be reporting the answers very quickly.

If the council and Higgs refuse to countenance such questions I await some very strong editorial lambasting them and their veil if secrecy.

Not the question that effects the whole taxpayer - namely where is the loan now.

You have though effectively acknowledged wasps will be purchasing 100% dongonzalos please take note.

So the newspaper should never challenge political decisions either, as the public will always be split over them?

What, ultimately, is a point of a newspaper that holds no opinions one way or another?

What if that opinion is just different to yours?

Why are you so concerned about the tax payer all of a sudden? When you thought there was a chance that SISU would get everything for free you couldn't give a fuck about the tax payer or the charity and said as much on a fairly regular basis.

I'm not. I'm just surprised those that were concerned about the tax payer and the children now seem to not care less.

Then if it's stated openly and accepted as an opinion, so be it.

The Sun, for example, wears its opinions pretty openly. I disagree with them, I choose to say I disagree with them and why... but they are there.

Les reid gave his opinion and many disagreed. So be it, it stimulated debate... but it was put out there. Likewise, Andy Turner has offered some strong opinions.

The neutrality of a media message is a myth. 'Neutrality' in itself positions in a certain way... What's chosen to omit can be as important as what's presented.

I am not in favour of Wasps coming to Coventry. But moving a sporting club is hardly a new concept. I fear the protests are decades too late. I also detect a wiff of ulterior motive with some posters.

Who for instance decides the boundaries any team must conduct their business within. Who are these restrictors of trade? They want to make rules up as they go along.

Lets get our own city in order first, get Earlsdon RFC out of Canley back to Earlsdon and Broadstreet back across the city to Henley Rd or did they start in Foleshill.

As for players moving about for employment, a disgrace....they should stay loyal to the community that developed them.
The world is a complex place driven by trade not nostalgia.

Hatred and ignorance helps people find an excuse to have a dig whether they honestly believe it or not.
Now we have the franbchise there is a real threat to the clubs long term future in the city they have rethink the argument and decide whos bread they would prefer to see buttered.

Indeed a temporary move away is nothing new at all and if they ultimately stayed there its hardly a new concept - franchise sport - is it?

Well you seem concerned enough to push a local journalist on the matter and telling him what you expect him to write if he can't get the answers you want.

What makes you think that people are no longer concerned for the tax payer and children?

Because they aren't asking these questions Tony and leaving it to me. I thought that would be obvious.

Ironic isn't it?

You don't even live in Coventry.

Hidden agenda ? or just getting your fill of self importance ?

I was bothered about Northampton that is why I protested.
I am bothered about Wasps so I signed their petition. Also I will not be going.

I knew someone would bite Nick trying to bring out a CCC/SISU divide.

The real point Nick is there are no rules no defined boundaries and a whole history of sporting clubs moving venues and areas.

The only thing that stops it is market forces which is what brought Coventry home....get the real point now Nick?

So if I did live in the Coventry boundaries, or was soon to my views would be justified?

Probably true, but no less concerning the speed with which it appears to have been 'embraced'.

Not by me I might add, I have plans for Cov Rugby on Saturday and back to the City on the 15th. As others have inferred though our 'Own' clubs seemingly make minimum effort to entice their catchments sports fans.
