But no one knows what we've specifically asked them for. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

Permanent space. That's what the club say they have asked them for. Wasps don't seem to be able to meet their requirements. Do you think this bodes well for coming to an agreement on say revenue streams?

It just makes me laugh how many people say that we just need to ask Wasps for stuff and they'll give it us. Clearly that's not true. Wasps aren't going to 'give' us anything.

This Wasps monopoly of extortionate permits? So how was that table set up? Because that table is so bad it would be more profitable to be without it!

I have seen fans displaying more merchandise.

Which distracts not a jot from my point here. Our merchandise is crap, given. That isn't linked to the fact that we've asked Wasps for permanent space and haven't got it.

What planet are you on Italia?

We are tenants who signed an agreement that didnt include shop space. Want it we pay to lease the space.

And everyone knows how good we are at paying rent.

But why is it SISU always have problems setting up working relationships? TF reassured us how good they were at working with people when Wasps moved in.

Wasps are hardly that stricked if SISU can just set up a crappy table selling merchandise inside the ground?

The evidence here is that the club have asked for permanent space, and Wasps have knocked us back. It's a bit of a leap to say this is down to the club solely - if Wasps are so keen to have us as partners, as is oft claimed here and elsewhere, surely this would be a simple enough request to fulfil.

Instead of a permanent space, they've let us have a crappy paste table (accepted that it seems too big for our current stock levels!). Maybe instead of access to ACL income streams they'll let us have a crappy rent deal.

Some people seem reluctant to accept that Wasps might be in this entirely for themselves, particularly the councillors who signed the deal claiming that the club's future is assured at the Ricoh under Wasps, and those claiming that they want to be 'partners'.

It is not just the merchandise is crap....the merchandising of it is even worse! If this is the best we can have, and I don't believe it, we would be better off not even bothering and put our efforts into a good online shop.

CCC have conspired against us, Wasps have conspired against us...meanwhile SISU are building a new stadium despite the whole world putting obstacles in their way.

They have put a squad of promotion contenders together yet every other team in League 1 has conspired against us.

Either that or the owners just have no rudder on their boat.

It went something like this I guess

Ann Lucas : Can you guarantee your move here won't affect the existing sports team in the city and you will work alongside them
Nick Eastwood : Yes, yes we can
Ann Lucas : Thats great

Cov fan : Can you guarantee that the Wasps move to the Ricoh won't negatively impact on the football club
Ann Lucas : Yes, yes I can
Cov fan : That's great

There's no conspiracy here, it's just the simple point that Wasps aren't going to give us anything, and they are clearly a hard-headed commercial organisation in it for themselves.

What tires me out is the pretence from many here that it is somehow different - that we only need to ask Wasps for things, and they'll grant it, or that they want to be our partners.

You can bang on all night about how bad our owners are, and I'd almost certainly agree with most of it. But that doesn't make the other stuff about Wasps any less true.

I repeat if that is the best we can have, then let's not have it.

Some people may be reluctant to accept that Wasps are solely in it for themselves, based on seven years of experience with SISU! Broken relationships repeating themselves....how many managers, how many directors? Have you ever thought something isn't right about SISU?

tbh, I'd have thought seven years of SISU would make one more cynical and mistrusting of easy platitudes from a commercial organisation...

Agreed. I find the trust people give wasps a bit bizarre.

At a guess we rent the ground for a certain number of hours on matchday and can do what we like on the concourse so long as we setup and breakdown with the allotted time.

So we can do better than that! I have worked plenty of exhibitions and know what can be achieved within tight schedules. If that is your best don't bother. That table is after all a statement about what SiSU can achieve.

FWIW I would tend to agree. It's rather... shoddy and shambolic, isn't it.

Worse than a merch stand at a dodgy rock concert at the Leamington Assembly, and they have to take their stuff on tour to all kinds of dives!

If this is some sort of attempt to call me a SISU apologist, then you're talking rubbish Hobo, and you know it.

I'm pointing out that Wasps haven't been able to give us permanent space for retail, and on that basis I think it's highly unlikely that a deal for the much more serious business of the ACL streams will be as straightforward as many are pretending (or pretended when the stadium was sold). Further, if Wasps really wanted to be 'partners' then I can't see that finding some room at the Ricoh would have been that much of an issue.

Expanding the argument to try to get into how crap SISU are doesn't change that.

Here is what the club had to say in response, so they have asked and they didn't get.

@skyblueGnr is in the RAF not CCFC management

@SkyBluesGnr Hi Jason. We've asked for a more permanent space for shop on a matchday, but unfortunately this hasn't been provided to us yet

@SkyBluesGnr We hope to have a better shop option on a Matchday in time for next season. #pusb

@SkyBluesGnr Hi Jason. We are unable to use catering kiosks to sell CCFC retail #pusb

that is what was said by the club twitter in response to @SkyBluesGnr question, @SkyBluesGnr IS Jason do you think he was talking to himself?

Are you stupid?

I am not calling any fans anything other than fans, But I am calling SISU for what they are....incompetent. Where is the evidence they set anything up properly?

Every business is restricted by problems within in any given market place. SISU seem to have above average problems. They seem to lack ideas and simple solutions when it comes to the simplest of tasks.

TF and SW tell us how professionally they are running the club, more professionally than would be expected at Lge 1 level. Personally I don't see any evidence of it?

Whether it is a 4 year contract to a manager, selling our best player and taking 3 on loan as part of the deal, moving us to Northampton for a year, having no scouting system at the club, a table with some random merchandise on it, not being able to cope with ticketing demand on their return to the Ricoh, their press statements contradicting each other within days.

Displaying no viable business plan on or off the pitch.

But they are good at "building relationships" so let's keep the faith in all that is SISU?

No lets definitely not have faith in SISU, and don't put that faith into Wasps instead.

It is the CCFC merchandising operation at last nights match

Complete with shopkeeper in dirty raincoat. I wonder if he keeps the 'good stuff' in the back.
I hear there is a stall in the gents that does not get much use, maybe they could set up shop in there.

Ha ha ha!

We are delighted to see Coventry City back at the Ricoh Arena and this is where we want them to remain. We look forward to building a long and fruitful partnership with the Sky Blues.

Give us a trestle table and watch us thrive. Bell ends.

Watch some CCFC 'fans' defend them. Use your own expletives....

How do you know whats going on?
If CCFC want to have a shop at the Ricoh it will cost them. Just like anybody else.
If you don't want to rent a shop then you just bring a table.
Even the trolley in Tesco's they had was better than this joke of a table.
CCFC obviously negotiated a basic deal at £100K so obviously if they want add ons they need to pay for them.

Do you expect CCFC to get everything for free because obviously Sisu do?
This table shows that Sisu have no intention of doing normal business.
Have you been in the shop and seen the tat they are selling ?

This would be easy yo do.

So we all know that SISU twist the truth frequently, yet it always seems to be the fault of someone else and not them to some.

I am like everyone else on here. I don't know what is going on. So as usual we have to read between the lines. And to me it looks like they asked to sell stuff in a food kiosk. I am not sure if this would have been a goer from the start if food was still being sold. And if no food at the same time it would still create problems.

But I suppose that I should jump on the bandwagon and blame Wasps for us not having somewhere to sell our scrapers and screenwash without having better facts and only the views of one person.

Asked for what exactly? Clearly a food kiosk is the only thing that has been ruled out so what have they asked for? Space in our old club shop? One of the old dingy office's back? Have they even suggested a mobile shop out front. At the Gillingham game didn't Sky/BT (don't recall who was filming on the day) have a whole fans interactive station set up from mobile units (more than one) outside the ground? Not even in the car park IIRC but on the block paving right outside the ground. You could almost go as far as to say that this area was designed for mobile merchandising. In fact now I think about it I've also seen this area being used for mobile retail units when I've been to see bands play at the Ricoh.

.... and at Wasps games these units are dotted around the outside so even the smokers can go outside and have a drink and something to eat.

Inside they have singers performing in gazebos that seem multi purpose.

No excuses CCFC sales team I'm afraid.
