C'mon Stupot, that's not the case at all. "We are Cov City and we've never done enough" is the real reason. A season of success will bring back the missing thousands and the price really won't be an issue at all then.

It was still a valid comment, the Bradford tickets have never been above £199 in the last 7 or 8 years as far as I can see. Its took 7 or 8 years of being one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) in the football league to achieve the sales they have this year.

Not read all the threads but regards season ticket sales. I think taking the last two or three years into account, how the club was run, Sixfields, the Thorn era and the Pressley era, some of the worst home displays in memory selling 4700+ STs is about what i epected. The Mowbray era hasn't kicked in yet but if he/we can hit the ground running be in the top end slots, playing decent stuff especially at home fans will return, walk ups initially maybe get STs mid-season. Not sure what our regular season tickets sales have been over recent years but it has never been that high, nowhere near the Norwich levels but a winning team can make all the difference.

The other point he is conveniently over looking is the strategy is buy a season ticket before the end of June or else.

Looking at their forum a lit have said that they will miss many games but it's still cheaper to buy a season ticket as match prices are £25.

There is no doubt a link between ticket sales and prices, but there is nothing to suggest, for example, that slashing ticket prices by 50% will result in a 50% increase in sales UNLESS there is with that an increase of optimism and expectation amongst supporters.

Look at Leicester City - down and out at the beginning of January but their form during the last 12 games probably put them in the top 8 of the division. Despite the fact that they finished towards the foot of the table and spent a significant period fighting relegation, their supporters must have huge optimism for next season. Consequently big clamour for season tickets.

If Tim Fisher and Joy Sepalla get to meet the likes of some of you. No wonder they come away with crazy ideas about 12k stadiums.

Give your fans optimism and a cracking offer they can't refuse you will see fans from this proud City flying through the turn styles.

This is a great city with great fans.

So no I havent, it is about price and optimism and many other factors but price is the strongest of those factors. We nearly have the optimism at the moment due to TM, and the SR and RJ signings. We just need to sign a couple of strikers

I know you are desperate
But you will find quite a long time ago in the debate I agreed with you that many factors come into someone decision whether to buy a season ticket or not. However for that additional portion of people you are looking to attract on top of your hardcore. Price will be the most powerful of those factors. £149 a season would bring fans through the doors

The City's lack of any success whatsoever for so many years has been a massive factor. No-one can deny that.

I have said if we have a same pricing strategy as Brsdford we will get similar results.
We nearly already have the optimism because of TM.
I would argue we haven't got the football yet.
We don't match Bradford on the optimism stakes for obvious reasons.
Hence why ours would be 6k going up to 9k
As oppose to 13k going up to 16k

Lets not forget either that Bradford City had a good cup run last season and with it a huger amount of publicity and T.V. coverage. That will surely impact on demand for tickets.

I've mentioned this before but Pompey had a very comparable season to ours last years and have more expensive season tickets to us. Despite this with a smaller catchment area they are on course to increase their season ticket sales to over 11K.

It must be the big name signings like Doyle and Barton that have done it.

Leicester had fairly recently been in 2 league cup finals. They believed they would get promotion back at the first opportunity and they were right. It's simply about fans' optimism and expectation. They had and still have it in abundance while our fans have been ground down for year after year and it takes it's toll. Does anyone realistically think we can get promotion this year? Not many.

Pretty sure Leicester returned as champions at first attempt in league one. So yes I woukd hazard a guess they did fair well.

I that case our support is poor : forget years of struggle, relegation, SISU, Sixfields. etc. Yes, we have barely 5,000 season ticket holders and yet won the F.A. Cup in 1987. Yes, our support is awful.
