Wage Budget (4 Viewers)

2.5 million to run the whole club including things like pre season trips and anything else ie "lick of paint at the trainning ground". According to Mowbray

Other clubs talk about players budgets not the whole club budget. I would guess there maybe a difference

If all £2.5m if apportioned across say just 35 players = £1,375 per week which is about the average for this league

excludes coaching staff, manager, transfer fees etc.

looks tight to me

I don't know how people know. That's why I am asking?
I don't know how Mr Waggot knows that ours is a top six budget.
By the sounds of it you don't know either?

Does anybody know how we know this information.

I think you are probably wrong Nick I can't see SISU paying fans of other clubs to say what our budget is.

That's up there with people thinking the CET are making up that they speak to SISU sources. Or if someone posts in here a lot about the future of the club they love, they are either employed by SISU or the Council.

I wasn't talking about their fans I was talking about their chief exec who seems to know ours and also states theirs is top ten and ours is much more.

I haven't claimed to know exactly how have I?

The sisu but was clearly sarcasm as the way people are talking is that waggot is making it up and trying their hardest to disprove that we could possibly have a top 6 budget. Maybe you should call the Negative Police?

I'm still puzzled how this ffp works, even at a paltry 5000 we have more season ticket holders than some clubs will get total gate wise in our division or does food and drink, programes, raffle tickets all count and yes i do know we don't own our ground but at about a fee of £5k a home match that cost is likely to be a lot less than many in our league.

It's got to be recorded somewhere because of FFP.
Would be interesting to see it. If that then means it's viewable to all clubs

Isn't FFP also worked out on the previous seasons accounts? If so presumably the budget figures are always a season behind? So if so when SW said we have a top 6 budget does he mean last season we had a top 6 budget?

I don't think anyone has accussed SW of making anything up. Just trying to understand what he's basing that statement on.

One of those links mentions a benchmarking report from the Football League which is how they know where they stand in terms of wages.

I know that the club say it is a top 6 budget.
I am asking how they know. Is everyone's budgets listed somewhere?

Kieran Crowley has also confirmed that he's seen the league documents and ours is in the top 6. No ones budget is listed anywhere in public.

The problem is there will be one or two (Wigan - parachute payments, sheff United, for eg.) who will have the significantly high budget for the league and I imagine from 4th-14th there will only be £100-300k difference.

Has someone said Waggot has made it up? I would be surprised if he would make something like that up.

No you never said you knew how and you clearly don't know how.

I am more interested in seeing the budgets for all the teams and intrigued on how everyone knows each other's budgets.

So your reply probably didn't need the sarcasm to be fair. It is quite a reasonable question how do we know where our player budget sits in relation to other teams?

It's updated regularly through salary monitoring, OSB has done many posts on this. Hence why you can't inject equity like we did at sixfields to get us through without an embargo,

If our budget was so not competitive, Mowbray wouldn't have signed.

So what's your point? I never claimed to know how they know but you keep going on about me not knowing as if you are a schoolkid?

It's been suggested in the thread that clubs don't know each others budgets hasn't it? I was just showing they must do and I think there was a slight urge to try and prove Grendel wrong about the clubs knowing each others.

So there are league documents that list it?

Do you know are they only available to the clubs themselves?

Everyone knows everyone's budget because they share the information to ensure transparency, during the season and clubs help police each other to make sure their meeting the rules.

As far as I'm aware, yes to both of your questions.

The question was asked before Grendel was involved. You mentioning that is the playground stuff.

My point about you not knowing the answer? I was hoping you may have read between the lines but you aren't so I will be more direct....

Thanks for your sarcasism it's appreciated, but it is clear you don't know the answer to question so I would rather hear from someone not speaking bullshit sarcasism who does know the answer. Cheers

Thanks that's a shame would have been a very interesting document to see and then look at at the end of the season to see how people faired on the wages spent.

Do you know is it player budget alone that is listed

Pretty sure the links I posted did help and were very much on topic and does help confirm our wage budget is likely to be top 6 and that other clubs also say "our budget is top 10". One of them also talks about the FL benchmark which I assume is the document the clubs see.

Not all of my posts are aimed directly to you, pipe down with the high opinion of yourself.

Anyway, I had better not say too much in case you tell Simon Gilbert on me.

Again as far as I'm aware yes, as that's what gets measured via the SCMP for FFP.

Nearly as ironic as you preaching about people being negative about the football club I guess. Would have been like heaven for some if Waggot was lying and we didn't have a top 6 budget.

I am hoping for two strikers and a winger
And an experienced GK with LB going out on loan
I think the later is more important than some give it credence

He would be crazy to lie about something like that.
Would be very interesting to see what budget all the teams have and how they perform.

I agree he would be crazy but it doesn't stop people from suggesting it is bollocks (that is not me saying you have).

I don't think Wage Budget be the be all and end all, yes it would help but it could be a big budget spent badly or a little budget spent well.

Yes I can agree with you on that but what I can't buy is some saying that' Mowbray the Magician' is going to turn poor/average players into good ones over a few months just by managing them or getting Reda to play 40 games this season.

I had a quick google of FL Benchmark and couldn't find any reference to it but i did find something on UEFA benchmark for clubs who have qualified for europe. I didn't click on the link but it looked like that doc was available publicly.

It won't be the be all as Yoevil proved.
Even though some still said Johnson wasn't a good manager when he pulled that promotion off.

It is incredibly frustrating to have had a top six budget for a few years and never got near the top six.

Just for clarification all clubs know what each one has in terms of revenue and thereby their player budget. The FL collects all the revenue figures from the clubs and publishes it for them all to see - the names of the other clubs are deleted but it doesn't take too much detective work to work out who most of them are. The report is published in bar chart format showing the different areas of income for each club ie ticket sales, owner investment, off field income etc. At an SCG meeting (March I think) Fisher was showing this to the meeting and CCFC was in about 8th place from memory. Obviously this shows revenue received, it does not show amount actually spent on wages etc and Waggott did admit during the meeting that we did not spend our full allowed allowance, keeping around 5% back. This is a confidential internal document for the FL clubs which is why CCFC cannot publish it - not even sure if Fisher should have been showing it but he was trying to prove a point about off field income and why we needed our own stadium etc etc

Thanks Jan. imaging bar 2-3 clubs there wasn't a great lot of difference between the top 14-16 revenues?
