This is what I expected sadly ... no surprise and hence why I didn't renew the ST ... Mowbray I have faith in ... SISU are doing the usual, different season, different manager but same S**T in the litter tray.

I think you've been eating the cat litter. You didn't renew your season ticket because you don't like SISU and anything Mowbray does that you don't like you'll blame SISU for? I mean fuck my life, if you don't want to go because of SISU, don't go - the majority of people won't knock you for that but don't just make shit up to justify it. That's exactly the kind of statement that fuels the heated argument that our fans will always find an excuse not to go. Mowbray has said plenty of times he's playing the waiting game because of the nature of the leagues now. He's got full control, so if you have faith in him, show a bit of trust.

we all know how how hard the job must be to attract players into the club the way things are , TM is no fool, and is not going to advertise who he wants to bring in so others get an insight to who may be coming avallible once the prem teams list their squads . we all hold little faith in our owners , but lets see what TM can do ,don't think we will see stability as a club until something major happens of the pitch , but id just like to see a competitive side with stability giving us some prospect of hope for the future. with my feet firmly on the ground and my head not in the clouds, a top half finish this season with a happy stable squad and with a good outlook for the next campaign , will be a good season , anymore will be a bonus , good couple of cup runs ,keep the city interested .

I have had a thought just now (currently sitting down), that I can see the positive side of this "story".

Basically, the defense is now basically in and will build an understanding over the next 2 weeks.

Whereas, the attacking side of things are up in the air, but then, some players can come in and hit the ground running, so maybe the attacking side of things wasn't TM's main concern? We were shocking defensively under SP, and the attacking talent of CW, LC, CB and Moussa heavily papered over these cracks.

I think I've taken my hand away from the panic button for now, but if we don't have a permanent/ decent loan striker by next Saturday/Monday, I will be concerned.

Was always going to be the position that takes time to be fair.

Seems like a great chance to get in Tudgay and Thomas's ear and tell them to prep for 5-6 games to show what they are made of. No one wants kids all season but a fired up kid going hell for leather for 5 games is no bad thing.

Especially with strikers I'd rather wait. Decent loans won't be known until closer to the deadline and clubs who might be selling or releasing players will still be sorting their squads. If there's no free agents in our sights it was always going to be towards the end of August IMO.

Why do you need to blame anyone for him being confident of having two or three lined up to join before the Wigan game? Is 'blame' your favourite word at the moment? Mine is 'onanism'.

I'm not blaming anyone in pre season but what I said was if we do lose the opening 5 games then blame will lie some where and it wouldn't be sisu for once.

Even if we don't make another signing we won't lose all of the first 5 games.

No I'm sure we won't also but we may only score a goal or two.thats more to the point on a discussion about strikers.

"HAD"

It was about £30m in 2013-14. Least season it was nearer £20m, and will be a LOT less than that this season

I thought they had another two years of Parachute payments? If so, they will have the biggest turnover in the league by some distance, in all probability at least x2 the next highest (sheff utds is about £8.5m). With no one to sell, cheaper tickets and no real increase in uptake our turnover will be about £5m.

Edit: just checked and Wigan get £8m parachute payments this season and next season before they even sell a ticket.

I think he is paying a fee for this striker, then loan players as well. They wont let the player leave until they get there replacement in.

I think its obvious tm does not think we will be running at full steam until a good few games in, so he has made signings that will make us hard to beat not that will go out to win games. Its a starting point for him to work on until the right players are available for him to bring in.Not what we want to see as fans but a very sensible starting point.I am convinced TM will get this right so lets just get behind him

Stopped reading this after page 2 - what the hell are you lot on about? Has the link been updated or are you reading something else? He says he's pretty confident he will get someone signed up for the Wigan game, and then I read comments saying "disappointing" and "what do you expect with SISU" and "not great imo".

Some people need to get a life...this is the most positive period I can remember for a few years at least and you're still finding something to cry about

At the moment looks like we will be forced into a 4-5-1 formation - however we do not look too bad
We have Lameiras and Maddisomn who can play just behing Tudgay and even Thomas to partner Tudguy if we do go
4-4-2! We do have options now and I think TM will get another forward option or two in before start of season.

I do not think the majority of complainers actually support the club TBH even if they say they do it is false support
so would rather they pissed off entirely and took their energy sapping negativity elsewhere!!

Thr complainers are council lovers who have egg on face after they lost thr council vs sisu fued that lasted years. Now they need something else to be doom and gloom about.

They are not city fans

What's the date quoted that prem teams will choose their squad?

As in, players will be made available for loan?

More quotes from TM today: "It’s frustrating but the finances mean that we are looking at loan players and those can’t be sorted out while clubs are on tour out of the country.“I’m hopeful that we could have two or three on board next week. Ideally we would have had everything in place by now but I’d rather wait for an extra couple of weeks than make the wrong decision.”

deliberately divisive and not true.

So we could possibly have a striker coming on tomorrow? Surprised there have been no rumours yet.

Kieran Crowley has been asked on Twitter if a striker signing is imminent and replied -

"Not completely done yet but close. Hopefully we'll have one to announce over the coming days. #PUSB"

There haven't been any leaks with this as yet have they? Hopefully we will soon.

Also, are many signings usually announced on Sundays?

Billy Sharp is a terrific signing. Derby fans absolutely hate Sammon but he'll probably end up banging them in. United look very strong.

Sharp has scored 6 goals in 56 appearances - he is washed up.
