Very true, however they didn’t try to harangue the club & hold them to ransom to try and force the club to give them what they felt entitled to

If we did sell the boxes then quite categorically and unarguably the strategy would have been proved correct.. from a commercial/ financial point of view at least.

That’s because it wasn’t massively underpriced to start with

There doesn’t need to be a “huge clamour”, don’t exaggerate

i dunno, it’s very risky and time consuming- and can be costly- to switch a supplier. But anyway that has nothing to do with boxes or even football at all 😁

But we have people saying “it’s completely irrelevant what other clubs are doing”, yet now you’re complaining that we don’t do what other clubs do. Hypocritical again- it’s ok to mirror what other clubs do if it’s in your favour, not so good if it’s not.

so if they did that, making all suppliers equally priced, you’d move away from the incumbent supplier to a new one even if you had a good relationship with them?

I do, and as you can gather I’m pretty unimpressed by the way the boxholders are whining and trying to railroad the club into getting what they want as opposed to the club putting it right. It’s possible to be critical of more than one thing at once, it’s not binary.

Well this is patently false. it’s even been said by Kenilworth himself that prices last season were way too low, and boxholders knew it- ie they were wrong. He even said he wrote a letter to the club about it. So if you know that last seasons pricing was wrong, why would you use that to set...

Don’t doubt it, and that’s because the pricing was way off. It was a joke what we were charging.

yes fair point, it may be that the prices are ambitious compared to what’s offered going by what has been said. But still, the prices should have been much much higher than they were and that’s been corrected now, maybe too much but we will see.

I think it’s the hypocrisy really. Any business owner does whatever it takes to maximise income, and there is always pressure to grow the top line- but when someone does it back the toys get well and truly thrown out of the executive box

It’s pathetic, rabble rousing to try and stop the club maximising its revenues.

That’s not what I said, I said that boxholders were ‘being allowed’ to take the piss, from the former mismanagement that was going on. it’s really not a good look to be campaigning for increases to be staggered when lots of people save all year to get the money together for a season ticket in...

are all the boxholders forming some kind of union or something?

Doug King live on air Monday

King is not responsible for what happened before he even arrived. he inherited a situation where box holders were being allowed to take the piss, and now he’s put a stop to it. It reeks of faux entitlement and all this talk that we should have “staggered the increase”- we’re talking about...

Doug King live on air Monday

it’s a bit pathetic trying to hold the club to ransom because they think it’s their divine right to rip the club off

Doug King live on air Monday

All well put & fair points, however.. the same rules that apply for those in a financial position to pay for boxes also apply to the person selling them- ie get as much for what you’re selling as possible. I don’t believe for a single second that any business owner wouldn’t have done the same...

I had thought that everyone would be onside with that mindset, but as it turns out a fair few must have quite liked the small club mentality we had for years, because it saved them a few quid.

You are feeling bitter because your own ticket prices went up, or you got moved or whatever it was. Since then you have become obsessed with executive boxes as a way to vent that bitterness. Before this you wouldn’t have given a toss about boxes but now you are fixated on them. Anyway- the...
