Stop with this drivel. If Ashley wanted to own us he would already do so. He more than has the means, he's had multiple opportunities, he has absolutely no need to create a "situation" in order to give Doug an out.
It was clear something wasn't working but I'm far from certain Robins was the issue. Even if he was, who is there better out there who would want the job.

And he looked so assured in pre-season...... I know it's not the same as real matches but how you go from playing with swagger to barely looking like a footballer I've no idea
