At that point in time, it looks like we had Eastwood, Best, Leon Mc and Clinton Morison as established forwards with Gary Madine on loan and Cal Wilson and Jeffers as youngsters coming through. The first 4 were probably considered to be decent level players (I add, at that time) and Lita may...

Which Boro? Nuneaton in the end. Can’t say he didn’t like the area. Funny old world.

    Simms + Wright = ?

Beginning to think Wright and Kitching were panic buys. Simms I can understand the logic: proven at this level to a degree, staged fee, young, potential to improve; a calculated risk. That he hasn’t hit the groove yet is a bit surprising given his form last season in this division. 12m plus...

Who was that German player who linked up with us 3 times or whatever when we used to keep going to Germany pre season. What happened to him?

Wilson 6 Thought he could have come off his line quicker for their goal - seemed a bit indecisive. Otherwise ok, but some decisions with when to release the ball and to whom were questionable. MVE 7 Showed his class at times and growing in confidence - he knows he’s better than most at this...

    If Bidwell wants out....?

Bidwell is the best left back but isn’t great as a wing back - not got the mobility of JDS. Good to have the option, especially if we need to switch tactics.

You can see why his agent has placed him there for a year - bang 20-30 plus goals in and get a move to a top top club. The Portuguese league reminds me of the SPL but with better weather and less mad jocks.

Just reading the comments about Dasilva and recall my own postings about how he seems to have settled into the Cov system quickly. Then reading above the penny dropped in an “of course” moment, he’s an Ady player; just like Dabo and JCS and Palmer and so many others (Maatsen or was he post...

Fair enough. I gave Wilson a 9 because I couldn’t remember him putting a foot wrong. Majority 6’s probably fair. Lati, Binks and JDS had good games. Allen and Godden were above average……. Maybe the euphoria of a late win tinted the lenses.

Wilson 9 Clean sheet, tipped one on to the bar, couple of sharp saves, came out quickly, kicking good….. Lati 8 I thought he did well, charged back well to cover on the break and covered defence where necessary. If Kelly is out, and whoever goes CDM is injured during the game, we could...

Thought I’d start a thread for the 😂 Got some dog’s abuse on here over the years from the brainy bunch for having the temerity to even suggest we look at a 20 year old undeveloped local lad who was studying whilst playing. I thought it an idea that we stick him in our u21/23 development...

DaSilva Ok, I think he has shown some potential and as a free wasn’t a waste of money. Sims Expected more. Might yet come good. Big fee so needs to. Tats I like the look of him but not at right back. Brad Collins Signing him (for half decent fee?) before sorting out the exit of Moore...

    Simms + Wright = ?

I’ll say it - don’t care that I’ll get the usual drivel about “giving time”. 1) for nearly £8m we should have a striker who can hit the ground running and doesn’t need the amount of development and basic training that Wright seems to need. 2) the strategy of signing 2 expensive strikers, a...

Drinkell said that coming here was a big mistake. https://thefishy.co.uk/story.php?id=8318977 He was a huge signing at the time, we beat Villa to his signing, and we had signed him from arguably the biggest club in Britain at the time (stop laughing - they aren’t now, but back then they had...

To be fair he’s 25 and a 1 year deal with another year in their favour for extending. And he’s on a free. Not a huge risk when you come to look at it. In a year, they may have a 26 year old on their books worth a fee (because they can trigger extended contract), or a 26 year old they can let...
