    Recruitment has been shocking

Vik decided on Sporting Lisbon the very moment he saw Dabo walking towards the penalty spot at Wembley.

    Transfer Rumour Billy Sharp

Mad Max, just one man can make a difference….. (Just on subject, of course Max is not the option but neither is Billy Sharp)

The concern for me is that even MR has alluded to the squad being “a quiet bunch”. This translates to be that there’s a lack of strong motivating characters and one of the partial ITK’s (saddlebrains?) mentioned that the new signings were “bollockless”. I waffled on about it earlier that...

I agree. The noticeable difference is that Simms and Wright cannot hold the ball up and lay off and turn and run. We tried developing Bakayoko and blew a lot of budget on him (£250k?) which at the time was chunky money to us. £12m is madness.

We are Cov fans. The fact we are posting on here at midnight shows we are venting our frustration and at times overreacting. I guess that’s the human condition.

Good point. We might as well have brought Jodi Jones back. Neither really fit our style.

True, we signed Simms / Wright to replace Gyok, probably Ayari to stand in for Cal but didn’t have time / luck / foresight to replace Gus with a roaming playmaker. Thing is, who we have signed in those positions has flopped so far.

To be fair I think he’s been more proactive over the last couple of years with subs. Used to leave it too late - stats might disagree but just my perception

I’m going to stick my neck out for some Hudlin style abuse: Sign Glen Rae on a trial / short term basis (29, released by Luton but signed non-contract with Worthing the other day for match fitness (I think I’m right in saying that he can still sign for us? Anyone know?)) We are short of depth...

Is the reality that last year we were a bottom half team with 2 Prem level stars on a mission? Sobering.

He made a few poor kicks tonight but in general I think he’s quite good at gathering and moving play on. We’ve bigger issues than Wilson to sort.

It’s not necessary zip or pace it’s effort and movement to pull the opponents out of position that we lack. MR brought Ayari in to do that I think and it’s not worked.

To be fair I think Wilson is quite good with his feet. Used to play midfield apparently

Maybe we should make headlines and if we win a corner not bother putting anyone in the box and just tap it out for a goal kick. We’ve more chance of being hit on a counter than scoring from a corner. Partly satire.

I don’t think Simms worked particularly hard. He should have had a free hit against a makeshift defence.

    Rotherham Ratings

Wilson 7 Couple of good saves. Distribution poor at times. MVE 6 Had no outlet - no forward making any kind of clever runs or showing real determination. No midfielder to lay off to and pass and move. Eccles should have shown for him more. As a result feels he has to go himself - with mixed...

    Simms + Wright = ?

Starting to think we should drop both of them and get Max back. Satire. I hope.
