    Les Reid Update

Well, we've got the journalist who has the most experience with this story – who was regularly reporting from Appleton during the administration – now moving the reporting on from 'exploring options' to 'have expressed an interest' so I think you've missed the boat again. He beat you to the...

Job Available - Club Journalist at Coventry City FC

We could argue the semantics for as long as we like but it's an entry-level job. Zero experience is trainee level, and in this case, 18-months is entry-level. I'm guessing that you're not in the business of hiring many people in the media sector. I didn't say that. I said 'lot of young Cov...

Job Available - Club Journalist at Coventry City FC

I'd imagine old gits with years of IT experience or management blah, blah and a fair few people earning some decent coin in the construction industry, might balk at this but in the creative / media fields, this is probably about reasonable at the entry-level. Looking behind the wage to the perks...

    Trust meet Wasps

The statement in full: Sky Blue Trust Meet Wasps On Thursday representatives of the Sky Blue Trust held highly productive, open and informative talks with Nick Eastwood, the Chief Executive of Wasps. Wasps are now owners of 50% of Ricoh leaseholders ACL and hope to shortly complete a deal for...

I missed the earlier version of this article posted last night so this is a duplicate & will prob. be merged/killed. Original here: http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/49817-View-from-a-Wasps-fan

The phrase 'Groundhog Day' has been used a lot recently regarding our situation but this now seems to be descending into some Inception-level bullshit. Great piece and it spawned a more condensed article...

A Wasps View: Is the Ricoh deal just a property development deal? This very detailed and well-researched Wasps forum post: http://www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/read/s96.htm?98,14932234 ...influenced and informed this Rugby Blog post...

Let's Play Ann Lucas Statement Bingo

I'll take: "We all remember 16th May 1987." "This decision has not been taken lightly." [Sub-sonic growl]

Todays council meeting will be held in public

Ann Lucas translation: "It's sooooo hard being a councillor! Peeeeepl are soooo meeeeeeeean! *koff* Back me or sack me."

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Correct. The power is given to council solicitor & Assistant Director Finance to do the deal. My mistake.

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Not sure if we find out. I'm assuming the vote is to allow CCC reps on ACL board to agree to the deal. More info on the actual council meeting – including a sure-to-be-fun-to-watch live stream – on this page here. Private business is right at the end so be prepared to wait a while...

    Council the real baddies?

I won't spend too much time on a fruitless discussion with the SBT fundamentalist wing but if you look at all the Higgs case disclosures and the judge's summing up, the deal of £2m to Higgs, take on £14.4m loan, extend to 125-year lease & bring in AEG was the last one put forward. The big...

    Council the real baddies?

She put a deal that was better than this on the table 2 years ago and everyone lost it, started the "media war" and said that they'd sell to Sisu "when hell freezes over". I wish that she had kept trying the same thing over & over but you can see why she gave up on it. How much council money...

    Fight!

Nice one Michael. I am happy to take this thread in the spirit in which it was intended. You're dead right...Cov fans know all about humour in the face of adversity and this is a quality example of it. (Although I will say I'd be fighting way above my weight class so Stuart Cosgrove might have...

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Correct. And I'd heard it from multiple sources and that tends to be the bar for giving something more credibility. It came from the possible involvement of Eurofin Capital who RR allegedly consults for. Of course there are still rumours about backers swirling around. See spider_ricoh's 'Can...

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Kevin Hill (BBC CWR) reporting a charge of £5.5m for CCC & Higgs shares in ACL. This just stinks. We could have avoided Sixfields and could even be in the Championship by now if Peter K-H hadn't thrown his toys out of the pram. Shameful.

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Just a reminder...there was an offer on the table two years ago where Higgs would get £2m for their half share, the debt would be repaid and ACL would get a 125-year lease as shown in the high court. And of course CCFC would have had a future at the Ricoh.
