Petition SISU to sell the club

Did you miss the bit about "what happens if we leave the Ricoh, then Wasps get fed up with Cov and decide to knock it down and sell it for housing before moving back to London?" With no long term tenants, that would be dead easy for them. Once that happens, show me where we can accommodate fans...

Petition SISU to sell the club

Relative to other teams in this league, look what happens when we can be successful. We had 22k home fans in the stadium when we played Leeds in 2010, similar number for the Ricoh return and Crewe games. If we were consistently successful we could regularly get near these numbers, which is a far...

Petition SISU to sell the club

Potentially-huge fan-base Based at a PL-standard stadium, which brings its own prestige Low initial running costs Low purchase price Academy producing good young players Big name and brand awareness (more so than the other clubs in this league anyway) Quality big-name manager Negligible...

Petition SISU to sell the club

I would be an asset to us to have a long-term home sorted on reasonable terms. No investor is going to like the "we're homeless" or the "we're playing in a shoebox now" model. With the right terms and by encouraging fans back, we can break even - a lease at the Ricoh is not a barrier to that...

    Rochdale at home Boycott

The whole point is that it does hurt CCFC and therefore encourages SISU to sell, by showing them that their relationship with their customers is beyond repair. From there, a recovery might begin. Short term pain, long term gain, innit.

He's getting worse than Grendel. Tries to deflect every anti-SISU comment by implying the poster is hypocritical, pro-council/Wasps, doesn't know what they're talking about etc. He also sounds miserable when everyone gets enthusiastic about a gesture for all of us to tell SISU what we think of them.

Petition SISU to sell the club

On reasonable terms, yes. I don't understand why anyone thinks that a long term deal at the Ricoh is a bad idea. You certainly haven't shown why it's a bad idea, have just tried (and failed) to ridicule my ideas.

Petition SISU to sell the club

Have people thought of what might happen if CCFC do leave to play at the BPA (fat chance, IMO) then after a while Wasps decide the move to Cov hasn't worked, then agree with the council to demolish the Ricoh and build houses on it??? That couldn't easily happen if we have a long term lease on...

    Rochdale at home Boycott

Unfortunately there will always be people who ignore the boycott because they want to support the team, we even saw that at Sixfields. A boycott with sub-500 in the ground would be fantastic but I just cannot see it happening. We have thousands of ST holders who do not want to miss a game and...

Coventry City ground share with Coventry RFC at Butts Park Arena could be back on

The whole topic should be forgotten and never visited again. The future is the Ricoh. Sorry about that. You can close the thread now.

    Rochdale at home Boycott

No. Because 1) its clearly a protest and a one-off where there stadium would be empty and 2) even our latter years in the Champ show that with a bit of success (always plus 15k gates) we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot to move to a 15k capacity ground. Face it, the BPA is a non-starter -...

    Rochdale at home Boycott

Don't you think a protest boycott would convince them that the fan-base is irreconcilably opposed to them and that therefore they'll sell up? That's the point. Don't get me wrong, SISU leaving will not solve all our problems by a long chalk but it's the pre-requisite mandatory requirement...

Hardly as un-ideal as upping sticks and moving to a much smaller ground.

Not that we know of. Even if there was, there was absolutely no justification in simply not trying again to negotiate after relegation. There was no basis whatsoever for the rent strike. Have you read the judicial review? The judge made it pretty clear who was in the right on the whole topic.

Coventry City ground share with Coventry RFC at Butts Park Arena could be back on

Only after they had unilaterally stopped paying it. As if they had a God-given right to play at a stadium they didn't own. "We'll pay our dues if we want to" isn't how respectable, reasonable people do business. That might happen in the world of hard-headed business, but the tactics were...

Yes, clearly it is in their interest for it to be financially viable for us to play at the Ricoh, subject to their own needs. Clearly.

So you think it's OK to renege unilaterally on a signed commitment purely because it suits you to do so, rather than negotiating changes in good faith? I work as a contracts manager pal, and nobody reasonable behaves in that way, let me tell you. It's not wonder they all got to p1ssed off.

Deliberately ignoring the other justification which I showed would help CCFC, but yes just smear me and don't worry whether I have a point or not.

Personally I'm happy for Wasps to stay at the Ricoh and succeed there; mostly because it would serve our owners right, and shoot them right up the bum! Plus, if WRFC do succeed, it'll mean they can afford to give us a better deal on rent and other revenues, to help us. That might include...

Yes, the one which the club signed and agreed when it suited them to do so (decling the council offer of a variable rent option which would have seen us pay less in L1. The £1.2m being mostly to pay back the cost of building the Ricoh, which we couldn't afford, and which no private investor...
