    Problems and Solutions

Because it just isn't a foregone conclusion. Bringing him in also entirely depends on what his terms are and whether they're realistic. For instance, if he's asking for ridiculous wages comparative to his worth and the role he'll play this season and wants a contract until the end of the year...

    Problems and Solutions

Do you have an aversion to reading as I've not actually said this... Luton had been speaking to Moses for much of the summer and I believe had been training with them a couple of weeks prior to him agreeing terms. It's a completely different scenario.

    Problems and Solutions

It should've been addressed, but we're now a month on from the window finishing. Signing someone now that won't be fit before first week of November (at best) isn't really an alternative. We need someone now, not in a month to six weeks.

    Problems and Solutions

Signing free agents at this stage really isn't a solution. If anything it's a plaster for a bullet wound and probably more likely to not come to much than actually benefit the squad. For starters, it'll take at least a month to six weeks to get them match fit and there's no guarantee that...

    Josh Eccles New Contract

Gunnarsson wouldn't have much of an issue walking into the current side.

    Josh Eccles New Contract

Nothing I've said in there is actually unfair. From face value giving him the contract length we did was a bold decision when he was breaking down season after season. It was a calculated risk by the club and it paid off, but it could've easily gone in a different direction. My attitude at the...

    Vik in the News

It'll be his agency grinding the PR machine. Reading between the lines I suspect they thought they'd have clubs queuing for his signature in the summer, so they're clearly doing everything they can to continually put his name out there to ensure it definitely happens this time around...

    Kitching vs Binks

I do actually like Binks and he's got the foundations to develop into a very good CB, but he desperately lacks some core fundamentals for some bizarre reason. His all-round defensive ability just isn't good enough to cope in a back 4. Kitching I've got doubts about. His concentration at times...

    Equality Warm Up Shirt

As with any form of prejudice to tackle it at its root you have to educate. So on a personal standpoint I'm just not really a fan of novelty acts like this as I think it's just more the club wanting to be seen doing something rather than wanting to put time and resource in making a tangible...

    Commercial reshuffle

I don't disagree. A bespoke approach that is tailored to the individual is probably an ideal blend of the two but in larger teams that's obviously difficult. Regardless, I think the issue now is a lot of managers have an obsession with monitoring output, leading them to inadvertently compromise...

    Commercial reshuffle

He was excellent to start with in all fairness. It was after his probationary period that he down-tooled.

    Commercial reshuffle

Yeah I'd agree with that. Working from home culture hasn't helped either as even with monitoring software it's difficult to assess output on a day-to-day basis. All you need to do is wiggle your mouse or download software that does it for you.

    Ex Player Watch

I have to agree. Most of the teams Sporting are up against in those 8 games are actually pretty mediocre in terms of quality on a European level. It's important he puts in performances vs the likes of Leipzig, Man City and Arsenal.

    Commercial reshuffle

True. Hence why in my business I'm moving more towards a freelance model. Which to be honest is what I've been gradually doing anyway due to how difficult recruitment for permanent staff is at the minute and has been for a few years. I've been having to pay far above market rate even to attract...

    Commercial reshuffle

Companies like Amazon are putting employees on PIPs (Performance Improvement Plans) to show they've done everything possible to give the employee in question a pathway to improve their output over a certain amount of days/months. Certainly for PIPs I have heard of some companies putting in...

    Commercial reshuffle

I don't disagree with any of the above. Unfortunately there are people that go to work that don't want to work, or rather will do their best at trying to skirt through by doing the absolute bare minimum. I had a bad hire last year who started well but quickly showed he just couldn't be at all...

    Commercial reshuffle

Interesting. I personally think since the pandemic the pendulum has shifted hugely in favour of the employee - thus making it significantly more challenging to actually get rid of people, even if their performance is consistently poor. There's now a pretty stringent process you now have to go...

    Commercial reshuffle

It's not really all that surprising. He would've been on fairly modest salary that was in line with what the club were happy to pay for a person in his position, he was a yes man to the various ill-fated CEOs that passed through over the years, and due to his experience at the club he would've...

    Commercial reshuffle

It wasn't his personality that was the issue. He was a nice enough guy in general, but his incompetency was genuinely quite impressive at times.

    Commercial reshuffle

I'm shocked Tynan lasted this long to be honest. He was terrible in each of his various commercial positions and had an untold amount of complaints made against him from key sponsors/commercial partners over the years.
