    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

The goal for the season was to challenge for the playoffs and we finished nine points short - it was obviously a failure The cup run was great fun, but it was a literal sideshow and highly unlikely to be repeated given how favourable the draw was

    Calm down

You can say this about literally every team in the division (uhh except Sheffield United I guess) I personally think the squad (bar the defence) is a capable one, but it’s been assembled at a wildly inflated cost.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Quite possibly - it would obviously be an outrage if they were used today.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

It’s a ridiculous legal anachronism that no civilised country should allow.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Absolutely shameful from Biden. Just a historically awful presidency.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s a fun concept but in practice no one would want to stay there, and it would just encourage more of them to make cushy deals for second homes on the side No one wants to admit it because everyone hates them, but MPs have an important job and should be compensated to the extent that they...

    Match Thread Home game atmosphere

Away atmospheres haven’t been brilliant either tbh (I’m arbitrarily blaming the points system)

    The goalkeepers

The fixation on changing keepers as a way to solve our defensive woes has held us back ever since we moved away from the ultra-safe 3ATB style. Invest in some decent centre-backs ffs.

    Referee

I don’t know, I don’t claim to have any sports physio insight. But on a basic/common sense player welfare level I don’t think you can implement a rule that would make a player think twice or feel they were at risk of being punished and/or hurting their team if they were genuinely injured.

    Everton fan on Frank.

Look, fair play if Lampard came in when expectations were rock bottom and cheered the place up after the departure of an ex-manager universally hated by the fans, but I cannot think of a less analogous situation to the one he has here.

    Referee

Yeah just ban the players from going over to the sideline during any injury stoppage, book any players/send off any coaches who don’t comply. Might make coaching harder during legitimate stoppages, but that’s not the ref’s problem - it’s their own fault for abusing the system. You can’t really...

    Cardiff player ratings

People keep saying this but he seems to have quite a lot of admirers among different coaches and managers (including our own, according to reports a few years ago). I imagine someone would take him if we made him available.

    Dean austin

Pretty much - although in your world where job titles and org charts rule supreme you can quickly see that it’s completely unworkable in an industry where managers and head coaches are all-powerful. Which is why I highly doubt that Roberts/Austin/mystery DoF will wield as much influence as you...

    Dean austin

You seem to be making this up as you go along All I will say is that the idea that Frank Lampard has willingly signed up to a structure where he reports into an as-yet unidentified Director of Football, and can be outvoted on all recruitment decisions by Dean Austin and Claire-Marie Roberts...

    Dean austin

In which case according to your hierarchy, Lampard is currently more senior to Roberts then. But in any case, DoF or not, I highly doubt that Lampard will ever report to anyone other than Doug King for as long as he’s here.
  16. S

    Dean austin

Again - this is not a standard corporate environment. Your org chart and titles tell you that Lampard reports directly to Roberts - which is clearly nonsense.
  17. S

    Dean austin

I think the org chart is largely irrelevant in a context like this tbh - it is obviously not your typical corporate environment

If Lampard wanted Roberts out then I have a hard time imagining he wouldn’t get his way on it.

    Captaincy

Sheaf ticks a lot of stereotypical captain boxes (smart guy, central midfielder, defensively minded etc) but in reality he doesn’t seem cut out for it.

    Relegation fodder

We have a team devoid of leaders and experienced heads that is haemorrhaging goals - we need a manager who will come in and be as pragmatic as we need to be to shore things up and grind out results, but I somehow doubt that’s what Lampard was telling DK in the job interviews. I fear if Lampard...
