    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

Exactly so freeing the hostages on Hamas's terms isn't of interest to Netanyahu (other Israelis may feel differently). Might not even be possible without the support of his hardline coalition partners - which he is unlikely atm to get

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

Interesting perspective. Does highlight Netanyahu's political "dilemma" where his govt is reliant on the support of several ultra-nationalist/right wing parties. This reliance does make it seem rational, constructive peace talks (other than from a position of Israeli dominance) are highly unlikely.

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

Egyptians have had their own problems with Hamas and their links with the Muslim brotherhood. Spent many years fighting terrorism in the Sinai already. Also don't want the possibility of Palestianians launching attacks on Israel from Egyptian territory that might threaten the current peace they...

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

Cynical option is they knew something was going to happen but not on the scale it did. Hugely unpopular Govt trying to divert attention from widespread domestic discontent. Mossad is one of the best intelligence agencies in the world and seems almost impossible they knew nothing.

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

If you're referring to China then it's $$$$.The politics of economic convenience. Same as Govts & people don't really go to town on widespread human rights violations across the "oil states".

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Corruption is a bit harsh. Ukrainian military (and everyone else) was expecting a massively armed, competent invasion force so they calculated what & where they could defend with what they had at the time. Much of the focus was obviously on the large force that came down from Belarus towards...

Americans end up pulling their support why would Putin even think about negotiating ( at least until they've taken the entire southern coast which would be catastrophic for Ukraine's future)?

    Boxing 2023

Fury is a boxer the other heavyweights Usyk has fought really weren't - they were fighters. Usyk hasn't faced a big man with really good boxing skills and a boxing brain. I think Fury wins comfortably. Sounds a bit daft but I genuinely believe Fury can reach higher levels - he's always done...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

There were no oblasts with a Russian majority population before the 2014 conflict started. War has possibly forced parts of Donbas & luhansk into Russian majorities as native Ukrainians were forced to flee the conflict.

Wasps go to bottom of the pyramid

Nearly all these "pro" clubs depend on private backers. None of rugby is sustainable in its current form. A basic look at jersey attendances & ticket prices suggest an season income 200-300k add sponsorship etc you'd still be looking at a significant shortfall per season. RFU (which is supposed...

    Russell Brand

even if they do get "justice" under defamation process it can take a long time & court action. Cliff Richard springs to mind, years of rumours then the media articles and a hugely publicised raid on his house then 4/5 years of court action to get his name cleared and some financial compensation.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

It's not just the Poles - nearly all Ukraine's neighbours are very unhappy about them dumping cheap grains on the market. These countries have powerful agricultural interests as well as many small producers that create a lot of influence. Until the Black sea channels can be opened it's a big issue.
