But then you have the argument that removing it gives Russia a chance to regroup and regain an initiative and we end up back where we started.

They’ve admitted that’s exactly what they’d do. It’s an incredibly naive take even if it were true that Ukraine hadn’t retaken any ground. Which is obviously not true.

You either back them to the point where serious negotiations can happen or you embolden Russia. The idea the wests objectives have been met are silly. Need to finish the job.

Shouldn’t be an issue, our resident military expert told us that even plucky old Ireland could defeat Russia.
Interesting stuff. Given that the UK and US are in NATO and that several NATO nations watch Russia with concern, it’s absolutely our business to align ourselves with Ukraine.

If Ukraine falls, then Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are next

Poland officially ending its support for Ukraine , describing them as a drowning person who will drag Poland down with them ..

Interesting, I wonder if more will follow

Its because Ukraine want to export its grain and Poland doesn’t want it to. It’s nothing to do with the war directly.

In all seriousness. Threatening to sue countries that were blocking your grain was a dumb PR move.

If anyone’s up for killing some Russians it’s Poland 😂

I know you’re desperate for a Russia win here for some reason but you’ll have to wait.
Not desperate , just the inevitable

Not particularly arsed about either country

Historically they aren’t too keen on Ukraine either.

Got an election coming too. It’ll probably die down, but Ukraine misstepped diplomatically.

Well one election will determine how long this drags on - support their is declining

There’s too much support for kicking Russia on both sides of the aisle and Trump is senile so can’t see him managing a campaign.

Reading the article it’s a usual American Reps think X so Dems think Y situation. God I hope we never end up as polarised as them. Completely stunts all democratic legitimacy.

It's not just the Poles - nearly all Ukraine's neighbours are very unhappy about them dumping cheap grains on the market. These countries have powerful agricultural interests as well as many small producers that create a lot of influence. Until the Black sea channels can be opened it's a big issue.

Yes, but it seems you and Sick Boy don't. Or you don't know what counter offensive means.

Or maybe it's both.

Do you detect some sarcasm in his post?

I think that he, and you, are suggesting the counter offensive is failing/has failed.

I have no idea - have they repelled the Russian forces back across the border?

I did read an article from the BBC which was as ever the usual pro Ukraine narrative but for the first time within a lot of bluster the correspondent did finally acknowledge talks and diplomacy will be the only way this war will be resolved

Sometimes it's quite difficult to tell whether you really do enjoy getting a kick of out being a contrarian, or if you're just genuinely really thick.

I think it's the former, but I do wonder sometimes.

With Russia agreeing to withdraw from the invaded territories and pay full reparations.

I’m sorry that really is a lazy answer. Given you literally swallow Ukrainian and more importantly US propaganda at every turn in this ridiculous war you really need to look in the mirror

The US don’t want a “win” - they want a stalemate which in their ideology will last for a decade - if every Ukrainian dies in that decade it’s mission accomplished

Even you aren’t so stupid that you don’t see this as a fact

It's not lazy.

You clearly don't understand what a counter-offensive is or how this one is going.

I'll ask again, do you think it is failing/has failed?
