Mind-twisting logic. I don't get to "stick with SISU" any more than you get to "bring on administration". I would prefer that they continued treating us rather than pulling the plug and hoping a random benefactor with a five-star medical team dashes in.

I don't know that, but I am certainly not willing to risk the future of the club on the possibility that there are. Why did we sell to the much-despised SISU? Because, presumably, there weren't many other players. The men who got press coverage - from the club! - were a couple of jokers like...

    Well, Well....

Alki David?! If anything, the likes of Joe Dhinsa and Alki David are testament to the depth of the ditch that Richardson and co created. We were so desperate that we even entertained publicity seekers such as them. Really worth remembering every time we talk about "potentially interested...

I for one wouldn't mind admin

But any buyer would need to first take on the responsibilities of the football club and then negotiate an acceptable price for the stadium and land with the council. In other words, heavy losses are guaranteed on the promise of long-term potential. Surely the only types of people interested in a...

It's a good thing we lost.....

After the horror of Andy Thorn, I don't think a caretaker's honeymoon has quite the same credit as it once did.

I don't think that story ever had proper substance ... did it? But agreed, Gurney is an excellent broadcaster. Surprised he never progressed beyond BBC WM. That said, he was practically a kid when he was with us, so still plenty of time.

One way forward for us - Leicester City buy back Stadium

Indeed I did. Apologies. 28k+ could be possible with a concerted push. We have a huge catchment area. Get the pricing right, get everybody on board to push the message, push the b'jesus out of season ticket sales - frankly, I think everybody could do with believing in a project again.

One way forward for us - Leicester City buy back Stadium

I am not quite sure where you are going with this. You lauded the club's "30k average" as a selling point, now you're saying they can't do it, so does that give you greater reason to fear administration? I'm an optimist and think it could be done with a strong, collective effort. Not for the...

One way forward for us - Leicester City buy back Stadium

We don't average over 30k. A collective movement by the club, fanbase and local media to fill out the stadium every week.

    Threads

I'm not a fan of sub-forums. At most there should be two: football & everything else. Few people want to click around - they just want one, big, fat board that they can bookmark and easily access. Looking at the four Sky Blues sub-forums, we can see the last posts were two days, one day, 19...

One way forward for us - Leicester City buy back Stadium

We should definitely fear administration. Who would want to take on an unsexy, heavy loss-maker of a club, which resides in League One with no stadium? Maybe, just maybe there is a saviour out there ... but it's a gamble none of us should want to take. If we want to be truly proactive in getting...

    Fit and Proper People

I think the sport is gradually waking up to the valueless cesspool it has become. FFP is probably a step in the right direction to reclaiming some of the game's dignity.

    Transfer Embargo from midnight

It is not so weird. The rabid criticism of SISU has been here since day one: criticised for selling off players, then criticised for letting players walk for free; criticised for a lack of transparency, then criticised for anything they say; criticised for 'not putting any money into the club'...

    Transfer Embargo from midnight

Can they be separated though? We never really talked about the club in terms of ownership pre-SISU - it was just 'the club', even though the previous board was more inept and did greater damage.

Steve Waggott set to leave club....

I think they said he was more like a director of football, overseeing the operation at Ryton. So I imagine he has his fingers in more pies than just transfers - contracts and administration, scouting, youth teams, the academy etc.

    Transfer Embargo from midnight

Too true. I was watching a documentary about the film business the other week, and they were talking about just how hard it was to actually get money, even with established talent. Always a case of a man who knows a man who knows a man. Now that we have no ground to mortage (not SISU's fault)...

    Transfer Embargo from midnight

I don't think any kudos are due to one having "doubts" or "suspicions". When SISU came in, they prevented the club from going into administration (and a potentially bleak outcome), put money into signing players, paid a fair wedge to get Coleman as the manager, and so forth. Nobody would have...

The last manager you didn't want to leave the club...

Dowie is the one guy where you can make an argument for footballing reasons: 0.73 points per game in his last 15 matches, going from 8th place to 19th. A change to stave off relegation wasn't a bad call.
