    Transfer Embargo from midnight

I just don't see it as a big deal. Type 'transfer embargo' into Google and you will see how many clubs have/had one. It is practically becoming standard practice. The squad we have is very able as it is, the transfer deadline is in just a few weeks anyhow. It is not ideal, but at least the club...

    Transfer Embargo from midnight

Also worth noting that this isn't even the first CCFC board to be hit with a transfer embargo!

    Transfer Embargo from midnight

How would you define 'support'? 'Cos presumably you're supporting them with every CCFC-related purchase.

The odd one is Steven Pressley. Carsley is expected because he's the caretaker (and doing well); Curle, Brown, Barmby and, to an extent, Sousa are expected as part of the unemployed manager merry-go-round; Black is expected because of the past. But Pressley? His odds frequently come in despite...

Tommy Hutchison now guest of honour on Saturday

The number one CCFC player on the 'I wish I saw him play' list.

The last manager you didn't want to leave the club...

There were strong, ongoing rumblings about Adams having lost the dressing room by the point of his sacking. Those rumours certainly weren't helped by the player performances at the end of his reign. If that was the case - and most at the time seemed to believe it was - then it is an untenable...

Of the same opinion as most here - excellent manager, but a fickle one. Potentially a dreadful match with a club as rocky as ours.

Jim Smith came in because Richard Money was sacked, so it was actually a double blow.

    Black

Wasn't there a rumour that it was Keys who got Black the boot in the first place by pushing his Sky pal Reid to McGinnity?

    Black

    1. flashy, exciting, attacking football 2. can work within constraints and get the most out of average players 3. is unemployed, so cheap for the club 4. unlike every other manager we may speculate about, Black is a man who actually did the business at CCFC. It is so counter-intuitive to...

A poll would probably be better for this, as 'yes' and 'no' are too short for a post submission!

False equivalency there. Just because Thorn failed it does not mean that Black would have done/would do. What's more, Black had a half-season of games whereas Thorn had just ten. Nor do I think their results were comparable, with Thorn getting three victories, two of which were against...

A points-per-game record good enough to take the club to the brink of the playoffs over the course of a season - and that was with McAllister's ratty squad and little time for improvement. There was a serious malaise at CCFC when he took the reigns, with most accepting McGinnity's austerity...

Keith Curle - fave for the job now

Right, but I'm sure if given £20m then a Peter Reid could take a side up from the league. I think there's a much better chance of picking the right manager from a rigorous interview than from ever looking at their stats.

Keith Curle - fave for the job now

Not necessarily. Win percentage (or points per game) means little without context. A manager of a resource-limited club may have a relatively low win-percentage despite extracting the most from their squad. Equally, a cash-rich team might make a middling manager's statistics look a lot better...

Keith Curle - fave for the job now

I think his record underwhelms many: he has multiple sackings and a couple of relegations to his name. The man is 50 this year and just has not really impressed at a number of clubs. Maybe things would click for him at Coventry, but he has done very little to warrant enthusiasm.
