The only people that don’t support King are those with either an agenda or those too stupid to spot that they have. I have supported the club for over 50 years and we have had some proper clowns over much of that period. King isn’t perfect but he’s been much better than most of his predecessors.

You can’t just keep adding players and cost though. We obviously knew we planned to sign a top end CM this window so the club were right not to bring a lg1 midfielder in just to appease sections of yrs fan base. I don’t think James would get in our midfield pre Grimes and certainly not post Grimes.

Excellent lg 1 player, ok championship player. Played his full part in our recovery but not a legend.

Frank doesn’t have to pick him does he. You would not hold up a deal to prevent yourself from picking him. You just don’t pick him and you tell Swansea you won’t pick him.

He’s not a proven coach so why would we do that ?

We will have been talking to his agent for a while and only when the player deal looked possible would we have formally approached the club

Head coach is not to do with the coaching staff but the separation of recruitment. Austin doesn’t work for Lampard, they are colleagues.

I don’t know why people think it’s so odd that a coach might be asked to look after the defence and keeper. I can see why Robins may have seen the back 5 ( including the keeper ) as a single defensive unit, and thought the more they worked together the better etc. That said it clearly didn’t...

The scary thing is that neither Carr nor Austin thought Collins was the wrong choice enough to persuade Frank not to risk Collins and he had to find it out by losing matches.
