You don't have to religiously attend training sessions when you join a club. I often go months without seeing people from my own club at sessions. Indeed my "first" club is Godiva yet i now live in the Lake District. Benefit of club membership is it registers you with EA/UKA, which is often a...

Brilliant run. Do you run for a club?

    Running

That's a fair session... i was doing similar before i moved up to Lakes, on the track at Nuneaton... Longer sessions, 10/12km/etc trying to keep below 4:00/km pace. It does give you confidence when you find yourself running something like 39mins for 10km on a non-flat-out training run. And...

    Match Thread QPR (A) Match Thread - 28th August - 3PM Kickoff

I'd take 4pts from next 3 games, all day long.

Club night with Godiva... 25 minute cross-country effort. 7 miles in total, on top of 7 miles in the morning, made for a solid day. Debating a parkrun tomorrow, possibly Bedworth or Warwick Racecourse.

6 weeks gives you a bit of time to increase your base. As you suggest, get as much regular running in as possible (without going mental, overdoing it and getting injured) If it was 2-3 weeks i'd say just concentrate on doing a few good sessions to sharpen you up, and concentrate on getting to...

Club session with Godiva tonight. 5 x 1km with 90secs rest... 3:22 3:21 3:20 3:24 3:25 The final two being an absolute ordeal. Whilst the club fell training i do up in the Lakes is incredibly tough and sometimes very intense, they just can't match the intensity of the flat sessions compared...

Wasn't it WestHull Tiger, and we took 299 there....? He went on about it for months, if not years :D

    Nice v Marseille

I think it's more likely that both Nice and Montpellier are local derbies. Such is the hostility in France that its only recently that away fans have been let back in to derbies. (i'm not entirely sure but the real grudge games such as Lyon v St Etienne, and PSG v Marseille, may still have that...

    Nice v Marseille

There's so much more going on as well, other than Payet and the bottle throwing... the Marseille player whacking the ball point-blank into the crowd... the Marseille member of staff lamping the Nice fan (although really it was only a heavy shove in the chest/shoulder).

    Nice v Marseille

That wasn't a steward, it was a member of the Marseille playing/coaching/bench staff.

    Nice v Marseille

Whilst i completely understand your point... it was the ultras end in arguably their biggest derby of the season... it was hardly the family stand at Cov. I don't think many families were involved. I watched the vast majority of the game live and Payet took multiple corners in the 2nd half...

Pyramid session this morning. 1min,2min,3,4,5,4,3,2,1... all with 2mins rest. 8 miles for the session. Currently on 70 miles for the week, with possibly another short outing this evening. Working up to 4 consecutive race weekends in September. Then that'll be about it for fell races.... got...

As suggested above, the usual way is to roll a golf/tennis ball under the area.

    Running

Hello all... yes as suspected i've been busy up in the Lake District. Plenty of hill training and racing. Got a few decent pb's on fell races, and a couple of weekends ago ran my 100th fell race (in abysmal weather). The most memorable race was the Welsh 1000 Metres race, which starts on the...

    European championships 2020 thread

To be honest if you read my original post i joined the thread to point out that it was a bit of a farce. Look at Italy tonight. 3 home games in the group. I've only been responding to other's comments. Don't worry i'll bugger off again back to the running thread shortly...

A window overlooking the Lake District Hills. Being serious, i'm happy enough with a Sonos system, laptop, and BT Sport on my phone. Genuinely not interested in the Euros though.

What are you on about? 1) Wouldn't make a difference to me. 2) Chances of that happening are fairly remote anyway. 3) I actually live in a nice part of the country and (through choice) don't even own a tv

It's not just a tournament for England fans though is it. Look at tonight. Italy effectively have a home match to start with.

Joke tournament. Some teams could potentially play 5 matches in different countries, yet England potentially 5 out of 6 at Wembley. Most 3rd placed teams qualifying. Didn't Portugal qualify through their group last time finishing 3rd without winning a game. I shall not be watching.
