    Thank you SISU

I'd argue that we'd have at least sunk to League 1 (and perhaps even League 2) regardless of who owned us, due to the awful state we were in. SISU carry the can (rightly or wrongly, depending on your stance) for those years as they were owners, so i'm happy to say that they're doing a good job...

    Best feeling ever?

1-0 at Villa 3-2 vs Manchester United Last ever game at Highfield Road 2-0 Mifsud at Old Trafford In that order. Was only 5 at the time of Cup Final, and as good as certain moments in the last few years have been, for me they don't quite compare to the above.

    Match Thread Barnsley (H)

Well they aren't are they. They are in the playoffs and we're about 18th. Just like we weren't "relegated" and "bottle jobs" because we didn't beat Wycombe. Just like we're not the new Brazil 1970 if we win today.

If only we'd battled like Rotherham tonight.

    Running

Club night last night. 4 x 200mtrs, 3 x 1 mile, 4 x 200mtrs Unfortunately i was still absolutely battered from sunday's race, not to mention the reopening of gyms on monday! So took the whole session very relaxed. 200mtr reps were just used as a good stretch out, and ran the miles at about...

Raced at Pingles in the 1500mtrs today. Was 2nd in my heat, in what i can only imagine was a good race for the spectators... myself and a young lad from Bromsgrove&Redditch breaking clear in the middle stages, then swapping the lead multiple times on the final lap, before he pipped me by a...

    Article about 2020/2021 home shirt

Probably an unpopular view, but I thought the 2-tone kit was nothing special.... But if it had been a black/white version of last seasons striped kits it would have been fantastic.

Brilliant time... but as you well know, knocking time off gets harder as you get quicker. 163secs sounds like a small amount, but it's still 12secs/mile. Although i'd imagine race conditions have the potential to make up the majority of those seconds.

Cov Godiva here.... Gally do you know Phil Gould? He is a good runner from your end of town, although i think he now runs for Leamington AC...

I had mild Achilles Tendonitis. Went to a local sports physio (who i would happily recommend... he works {or used to} with Cov RFC)...... probably took a month of minor treatment, stretches and going very easy on the running. Stretching is one of the keys to preventing it IMO.

Track session at a cool and windy Pingles this morning. 7 x 400mtrs with 90secs rest periods. 74/75secs per rep. Only a short one, but an improvement on my final track session before the lockdown when i see that i did 8 x 400mtrs with 2mins rest, but was doing 78-81secs per rep.

    Thank you and goodby

It's quite telling that the two biggest buffoons on the forum (cc84 and that bury guy) want Robins out... In which case i'll nail my flag to the "Robins in" mast with a large degree of confidence.

They were meeting in the Tesco Car Park at Cannon Park, and going to run some hill on the Warwick Uni Campus. I'm pretty sure they were Northbrook, that's what my clubmate told me, although it could have been in error. As you say it was perhaps 6-8 people , most seemed to be in their 40's and...

    Running

Another club session last night, and a 25 minute constant up-and-down hill effort on the grass. Interestingly a group of half a dozen or so Northbrook runners were also in the carpark waiting to start a hill session... i thought we were going to have a race on our hands, but they went off for...

    Running

Club training resumed last night. We started off steadily with a 6 mile run with a few random hard intervals thrown in. Turning it up a bit now though... hill session on the grass for tomorrow night's session, then booked an hour on the track at Pingles for saturday.

    Gambling and lockdown

It's more a case of time. I enjoy tournament play rather than one-off matches... played a 20-game tourney on saturday, and even at 3 minute (+1 sec) games it was nearly 3hrs.

    Gambling and lockdown

I still play a fair amount of Chess. In my early to mid-teens played in the local league against teams from all over Nuneaton/Cov/Western Birmingham. Like most things, it dropped off, but with the huge rise in online sites i've started playing regularly again. My rating seems to correspond...
