I saw this but he’s signed for Middlesbrough. Starting to think our Embargo is hampering us a little bit

Would the embargo make much of a difference at this point? I'm loath to be one of those people who think it's completely immaterial, but I honestly don't know if it could hamper us.

Assuming that we aren't stupid and file our accounts before the transfer window opens, it will stop us signing someone before the transfer window opens.

They are being filed end of May as per government guidelines and nothing to suggest otherwise. Unlike some clubs we have always paid our players wages.

Well I don’t see why we’d leave it any longer to file anyway - Luton I noticed submitted on the 11th i don’t see why clubs will wait until the very last day. Derby is interesting as companies house clearly states no submission at all in 2020 which seems a blatant breach on embargo rules

But Grendel we are dealing with Joy Sepalla and sisu who have history for not submitting accounts absolutely no excuse for not submitting these accounts
I don’t trust them, never will.

Can't see any signings until June and I'm sure robins has got them in his sights ready to go.

Couple of New Zealand journalists on Twitter saying that we put an offer in for a 19 year old striker playing for Wellington called Ben Waine. Offer seems to have been rejected and he’s signed a new 3 year deal with Wellington. Interesting if we are now moving our scouting outside of Europe.

Better to start for them than hang around in our U23's for sure.

Leaving the EU means it’s easier to secure players outside of EU I believe.

Be interesting to see what happens I reckon he signed that contract to put a value on him I would think playing in England high on his want to do list.

They are saying they can get big money for him now. The record transfer out of Australias league is to China for £1m. 3 out the top 5 transfers out were all to china.

Glad to see we didn't sign some random striker from a farmers league, we need to be aiming higher.

Why don't you want him?

Is it because you think it was random without watching him play? Or is it because he plays in NZ?

I doubt the first and the second is no reason at all.

Start looking wider than Europe we all will need an encyclopaedia like knowledge of players ,so how the club will manage it .robins to stay within budget and get value for money it won't be easy I think and rather robins than me.

We can’t even get it right in Europe never mind Oceania

*waits for people to say Hamer for £1m and Dabo who’d never set foot in England before

Can’t get it right in the U.K. either: Ogogo, Brown, Chaplin, etc.

Let’s just stop signing players.

The A League is on BT Sport now. I've watched a few games and the standard is pretty mixed although the games are usually pretty entertaining. A few very good players (mainly older players who've had careers at a decent level in Europe) mixed in with League 2 quality I'd say. No reason there wouldn't be some gems there for us.

Is it a case that we have just subscribed to scouting software so our data analysts have pulled numbers from down under? More likely that than we have a bloke working out there.

I’d rather we do what we are trying to do than be Huddersfield signing Rhodes no doubt on ridiculous money on a three year deal with no chance of selling on at a profit.

He's got decent pedigree. He's scored a load for New Zealand at international. I'd imagine if we were linked to Dike before Barnsley signed him, a lot of people on this forum would have written him off due to previous international signings. They'd rather we sign Collins or Gnanduillet.
