I wish we had one, we all know what Sisu can be like. They've ran us well the last few years though tbh.

I can kind of get Robins frustration though. Rock and a hard place. Knows hes not got loads to spunk away but surely earnt some extra financial trust with the miracles hes worked the last 4 years. Tough one

He’s right though. We could have picked up some bargains with a bit of nous in the market that would repay themselves many times over in the worst case and earn us phat stacks over time if they helped us become a solid Championship side.

I agree. There was a fantastic market of free transfers this year, only 4 or 5 given decent contracts and we would have been more than comfortable. Shame really

I noticed that, It seems coincidental that they have stopped doing the preseason reports/photos/twitter videos on the back of covid positive tests.

It's more likely they can't be arsed editing a video that doesn't include the new signings who are probably already training with us.

Edit: Hadn't seen about the Covid outbreak when I wrote that! I suppose they could be trying to protect players' privacy?

There is some Covid around. Boddy has issued a statement.

Someone has copied it the Leamington fixture thread

Fair enough.

Why do you think we are now after Bright? Patersons gone quiet about the same time hasnt it?

We were all shocked at Waghorn as he doesnt fit the usual recruitment model. Same as Simon Moore.

And thats because both were way down MR's shopping list

Walsh, James, Collins, Paterson all approached, and all missed out on for the sake of a grand or 2 a week here and there. We're not talking the huge differences in money offered by other clubs either, contrary to what people may think.

Why do you think that for the first time in MR's tenure here hes got 2 players in 4 weeks before the first game, when other pre seasons hes over halfway through his recruitment?

I'm not saying he's walking, far from it, but if you think that this summer has gone swimmingly and the bloke isnt cheesed off and had a few stern words with Boddy et al, then you're thinking wrong.

There's only so long you can give a man buttons to build a squad capable of cementing a side, and when after all hes done for us he still isnt being given what he thinks he deserves i can see why there's been some kerfuffle.

Anyway. I await the usual 'you know fucking nothing' or 'you're just stirring shit' or 'you're a wanker' comments
Boddy has got fuck all to do with the budget. How do you know its a couple of grand a week here and there?

Yeh, I think you would be foolish to think that it's been straightforward, considering its mid July and we have signed 3 players, 1 that was effectivly signed last season.

Given how we’ve consistently operated under Robins in the past I don’t think it takes a genius to work out that things probably aren’t going exactly to plan this pre-season.
I’m inclined to agree but also seems that a lot of other clubs are in similar position. Not quite panic stations just yet…however given are relatively recent experiences of dodgy transfer windows (thank you Tony Mowbray) it’s understandable why nerves are jangling.

Completely agree. Let’s hope the covid outbreak in the squad doesn’t delay the kit launch and new signings too much further

James was only signed as cover when Kelly got injured so not a massive loss

Lucky for us they don’t hand out any points for pre-season then isn’t it

He was good he served his purpose when we needed him when our leader Kelly was injured. I would prefer to see eccles given more game time this season and hope Kelly stays injury free

Whilst I agree and think Eccles is going to be an excellent player and should be given more game time this season, it just gives me the feeling of that Mowbray window, lost Armstrong, Murphy and Kent, didnt renew Martin or Johnson cause we thought oh Cian Harries and DKE will do. All whilst Mowbray was trying to bite off more than he could chew and losing out on almost all his targets.

Walsh going to Swansea must be about the money. Their midfield was excellent last season so not sure how many starts he will get as unproven in the Championship never mind for a team that will probably be chasing play offs again.

I do actually have a ITK at Ryton. I've asked loads of times for info.
I used to get it but they won't say anything now.
Said he will be in the shit if it gets out and traced back to him. Won't even give me the heads up on things we know.

And a close family member, shows what pressure people are put on to keep things quiet.
