as in right or left or TV or newspaper etc?
If it's right or left then right by a long chalk.

So you think social media lags behind newspapers? Really?

Have you any evidence these Westminster ring actually exists. If so were the victims all not white so these attacks had a racist connection?

I don't think saville was racially selective in his choice of victim.

I assume you acknowledge the Newcastle and Rotherham attacks had a racist element?

Several MPs have been convicted, I know there is talk of a much bigger problem. That hasn't been proved but wouldn't surprise me.

They think the victims in Rotherham could be as many as 1500, I have no idea what the ethnic demographic is. I would say misogyny was more of a driving factor though I have not read too much about either set of cases, I find it very disturbing to be honest.

no, I wasn't sure what you meant.
Newspapers were always the biggest, they've lost a certain amount of traction but I don't think it's as much as you're implying. Murdoch, Dacres and their ilk will fight tooth and nail to make sure that doesn't happen.

Their numbers are actually on the decline of you look st KKK membership as a barometer.
Where are you getting reliable KKK membership figures from given that they themselves state there has been a surge in membership since Trump began his campaign for presidency?

There's been an increase in hate crimes, some reports go as far as to say they have tripled, since Trump started whipping people into a frenzy. ThinkProgress carried out some research and stated that 42% of hate crimes "included specific references to Trump, his election, or his policies.". The ADL state there has been 106% increase in anti-Semitic incidents in schools since Trump became president.

Why would people stay away from you in a nightclub because of pedo gangs? (unless of course you were 35 and it was at a kid's princess party trying to pull).

because asian men are starting to be seen as pervy or rapey and targeting "whites", horrible to even write it.

Exactly, and I agree with you. The British asian term is ridiculous, but again it is used because they don't want to say 'Muslim'. It means people like you, and many friends of mine that are Sikh or Hindu get put in one category. It's wrong.

i wont lie to you, what you just said is a hot topic in sikh community.

and i totally get it, but at same time dont wanna leave normal muslims out to dry either

That table means nothing other than terrorism on the whole has dropped from sources other than Islamists.
I posted that table, without comment, as Macca had stated there appeared to be an increase in terrorist attacks in Western Europe.

Laughable how you say that table means nothing but then reference statistics that include attacks in the middle east, half of which is basically a war zone.

No, you posted it because you thought it made you look smart and didn't think anyone would question it.

Yes, and what is the shock about that? Most of the victims of Islamic attacks worldwide are indeed muslims...

The outcome I'm afraid is the same however. Our biggest threat is from Islamic attacks. They are regular and they have been getting more common.

Strange that Takiyah Thompson, the black women who put a rope around a confederate statue, has been arrested. According to the county sheriff “With the help of video captured at the scene, my investigators are working to identify those responsible for the removal and vandalism of the statue.”.

Oddly there have been no arrests after Deandre Harris was beaten with metal poles by members of the Unite the Right protest. This despite it all being on film and the attackers having been identified on social media. That attack took place in a car park next to the police station.

No I posted it to show the level of attacks in western europe and how it compares to previous years.

What relevance does how many people have been killed in the civil war in Syria or the ongoing troubles in the likes of Iraq and Afghanistan have in looking at the danger to us in the UK?

anyway back to a earlier post i made, we can hate both nazis and extremist terrorists surely?

so much arguing but i wonder how much we all truly differ in our views

exactly, without tarring everybody from the same ethnic groups with the same brush.
I am very much from the same demographic as many of this right wing nut jobs, I don't feel I need to apologise on their behalf, that's for them to do, why should others be expected to do the same?

The fine words of the second paragraph of the United States Declaration of Independence.

Trump should have condemned not only the neo-Nazi involvement in Charlottesville but also their very existence. He should have made it clear that there is no place for them in today’s United States.

Having said that, the largest neo- Nazi group in the US the NSM, has just 400 members in 32 states.

.000001 of the population. Roughly one in every million. They are in decline.

The KKK is believed to have approximately 5,000 members and are in serious long term decline.

I have no idea. You're the one that tried to say some Islamic attacks are irrelevant because they happen in the middle east...

Below is another table, this time of Islamic terror attacks in Europe only. It's alarming...

They are all wankers, but the threat they pose is not comparable to the one we face from Islamic Terrorism. I know the USA and Europe are different situations really, but there are 23,000 people on terror watch lists in the UK alone and that should be taken seriously.

The Nazi's will now probably go back into the caves they came from shortly, but the next outrage over here like Barcelona will sadly probably be along soon...

I was pretty much of the opinion that the nazi threat is irrelevant for years. They rear their head occasionally before getting put back i their box but not any more.

I think Trumps election and rhetoric have given them an impetus I can't remember seeing. The ironic think is that no one will be more delighted by that than the likes of isis.
Not in the same league as the Islamist threat by a long way but dangerous all the same.

Speaking of Trump, the ghost writer of his book, The art of the deal, Tony Swartz is predicting Trump will be gone before the years out in a deal that will see him immune from prosecution relating to this Russian malarkey.

I think your first point is still correct to be honest.

There is no doubt the introduction of Trump has brought out a load of degenerate racists, but the picture that gets painted is that if you voted for Trump you're a nazi. Which is why Antifa have been attacking Trump supporters.

That was the main reason I was talking about them so much earlier in the thread. It's not to belittle the fact that there are Nazi's, it was just to say my opinion is that there are no where near as many as this current media circus is making out, and that this confusion is also leading to innocent people getting attacked, by organisations such as Antifa. It's a two way street I think...

That link perfectly illustrates a problem. We all know there is a problem with Islamic attacks in Europe but by publishing a list that, which by their own admission includes Turkey which isn't in Europe and honour killings which aren't terrorist attacks, it brings the validity of the whole list into question which in turn takes the focus away from the main problem.

To me it would be much better to use reliable sources such as Europol and remove that doubt. Do that and you have a similar binary situation to that currently occurring in the states. If you're concerned about lefties dismissing the very real problem why give them an open goal?

Before my last post, I actually drafted something along the lines of, 'what is your next excuse, the borders of Europe?' - I took it out because I thought it was stupid, but you actually responded with that exact narrative.

The left don't care about facts. It's why the Labour MP has been sacked and Corbyn is going on about Islamaphobia. The truth is as clear as day, but people just don't want to hear it. Look at Sweden too, they've stopped recording the backgrounds of criminals because they don't want to be offensive.

You've just confirmed my point that we're fucked really.

you're still just over 3 times more likely to be a victim of hate crime in the USA if you're black than if you're white - what's driving that then if this so called picture you're talking about is driving crime against Trump supporters?

What on earth are you on about now?

The link you provided claims to be Islamic terror attacks in Europe. It then states it includes Turkey "even though it is not necessarily a part of Europe" and "There are some honor killings on the list, which may not fit the strict definition of a terror attack".

The figures are useless as they don't accurately represent anything. They might as well have titled it Islamic terror attacks in Europe plus some other places we randomly added in and some non terror attacks to boost the numbers.

As I said before why not use accurate verifiable figures which prove exactly the same point and show there is a huge problem. Do that and people can't point to inaccuracies in the data. You're creating the opportunity for those who, for whatever reason, wish to deflect away form the problem.

Far better to point people to something like this:
EU Terrorism Situation and Trend Report (TE-SAT) 2017
which clearly shows there is a huge problem and is backed by reliable and verifiable data.

Sweden has recorded a large rise in hate crimes with the biggest rise being in attacks on Christians, as recorded by the Swedish Council for crime prevention - does that really suggest suppression?

So if you're going to post that link at the end, why be such a baby about if Turkey is in Europe or not? It is glaringly obvious that the list I provided paints a very accurate picture about the massive problem we have. Is Germany in Europe? Yes. Is France in Europe? Yes. Is Spain in Europe? Yes...

The problem is, it looks like you are busy looking for excuses as well. If you agreed with what I was saying, and had a better source of information, why not just say: 'Yes I agree, here are some more facts.'

Bizarre.

No it doesn't. I haven't seen that, but it's good if they are actually reporting on it.

It doesn't fit the ridiculous PC culture that they have there, or their intent on trying to cover up these kind of things, so I find this a bit against the current for them.

Yeah, or that too.
Just wondering where we're going next. The right are all anti-immigrants? Trump speaks for all proponents of the free market?

The right are all nazis, that'll be it!

Trump isn't fit for office, he's not wrong.

The sweeping under the carpet and ignorance towards Antifa (and similar organisations), and the mischief they have been aloud to get away with before Charlottesville is staggering though. They also kicked the hornets nest at this rally and it kicked off. I understand the anger towards Nazi's, but I don't understand the sympathy towards Antifa etc...

In a general sense, I've got no issue whatsoever in criticising violence from all sides. That applies to Trump, Corbyn, and whoever. I never really understand why a comment about 'I condemn all terrorism' is seen as somehow worse than condemning specific terrorism!

In this particular instance however, Trump seems to have gone a bit mad in his follow-ups. Should I be surprised? Probably not!

they kicked a hornets nest? What, by protesting against the glorification of a man who wanted to wanted to keep slavery? A man who stole and sold children?

You think that's OK? That march should have gone on unimpeded?

Even Mit Romney said Trump got this wrong, when you position yourself to the right of that man then you're getting into dodgy territory.

The march was right to be challenged of course, it's the notion from people like yourself who try to make out that these counter organisations are a bunch of angels.

I also don't agree with ripping down any statues either. Martin Luther-king was against gay marriage, do you rip his down too? You can't re-write history because a few people are getting triggered. It's silly and pathetic.

These aren't 150 year old statues though, most were put up in the 20s as a reaction against black people's rights and were part of a wave of racism that created segregation and a massive rise in KKK membership. Some of them went up in the 1980s ffs. I'm not arguing that they should be destroyed and history wiped clean but they should be put into a museum where they can be viewed in context as part of the period the came from, including the civil war, Jim Crow and the civil rights movement. They shouldn't be, literally, put on a pedestal to be admired without context.

Robert E. Lee is an interesting character too, I've read a decent bit about him and he wasn't particularly pro slavery and even considered fighting the war on the side of the union but ended up going with the confederacy because his home state of Virginia did and he, above all else, saw himself as a Virginian. The US national cemetery at Arlington was built on his estate. People are getting upset about the removal of statues of Nathan Bedford Forest though, a general who in the civil war refused to take black prisoners and so executed any that surrendered. How can you legitimately have a statue of this man standing proud in any city in the modern world.

as usual you're wrong, I don't think they're a bunch of angels, I'm just realistic enough to know that they can't be if they're going to go up against a bunch of right wing fanatics armed to the teeth - but you keep telling yourself both sides are as bad.
