I do think we will be mid table yeah. You all seem to be banging on about relegation hence why I suggested that as a bet. Happily take £30 on 15th or higher to the charity Mind.Talk about moving the goalposts.
If you genuinely think we’ll finish around the same place, surely you’d take anything above 15th?
Go on then but if I win it’ll be a charity of my choice.I do think we will be mid table yeah. You all seem to be banging on about relegation hence why I suggested that as a bet. Happily take £30 on 15th or higher to the charity Mind.
Fine by me as long as its not "Sick boy's benevolent fund..."Go on then but if I win it’ll be a charity of my choice.
Adding Palmer in to the mix who looks a real talent to me. Already seen him tackling back breaking up play which is supposedly something he wouldn't do. Comfortable on the ball and an eye for a pass. Looking forward to seeing more.
Wont be for along while yet.Palmer and O'Hare behind Big Vik, is something I'm looking forward to seeing.
You sound just like Forrest fans did this time last year!We have Norwich and West Brom up next, which could quite easily lead to 5 defeats on the bounce. Most teams’ supporters would start asking questions, especially when coupled with the form towards the end of last season.
Yeah because our situations are really comparable. You sound just like Forrest fans did this time last year!
What, as in having a poor start to the season ? And bleating like fucked pigs!Yeah because our situations are really comparable.
I’ll take that too if you fancy itGo on then but if I win it’ll be a charity of my choice.
Go on then - I think that takes me up to around 5 charity bets on the go.I’ll take that too if you fancy it
Wont be for along while yet.
Keeping the big 3/4/5/whatever is not the victory people think. The club needs to sell players to survive and we’ve missed the chance to do that with our most valuable players when they’re at their peak value - Gyokeres will end up being sold for a fraction of the sums being mentioned this summer, or leaving on a free.
Yes, no-one likes selling our best players, but the only reason to keep hold of them is if you seriously think they’re going to drag this current squad to the next level. If anyone still thinks that after the first four games I’d love a pint of what you’re drinking.
This squad is crying out for new investment, and we just missed out on our best chance in a decade to get a ‘big’ transfer fee. We’re like a cold and hungry family stubbornly refusing to sell the Mercedes parked in the front drive.
I was absolutely convinced that at least one would have gone. Gykores being the most likely. Am I being too optimistic in thinking that there may be investment / takeover machinations going on, and that this has influenced the need to sell the big 3. As previously stated the Hyam sale is plugging a short term gap.
Nah I just don’t think there was the interest expected. Did we even get a reported bid for Gyokeres?
Yep, think things have been really blown out of portion based off of a few crumbs from ITKs here and there. That's the point - it appears that we are not as desperate as most of us thought
Whats that got to do with anything? For someone with a double barrelled name, your schooling fell somewhat short.
Won't be for a long while yet.

SCAM ALERTI'll take a charity bet on us not getting relegated happily!
Craig Forrest? You sound just like Forrest fans did this time last year!
It’s not about being desperate, it’s about doing good business. Buy low-sell high isn’t rocket science.
If Gyokeres really was worth £10 million this summer as many people said, then it’s mad that we didn’t sell him, even if we only got to reinvest a fraction of it. People are talking about him like he’s Bitcoin - his value can surely only go up!
Another bump on a totally dumb philosophy- it’s pretty clear without Gyokeres we are dead certs for the drop. We have to retain him even if it means the end of his contract. Without him I see zero hope of survival
The philosophy isn’t to sell Gyokeres and not replace him (which, well spotted, would likely lead to relegation). The philosophy is to raise funds and improve a squad that, by your appraisal, is a relegation candidate at best anyway. If selling Gyokeres isn’t an option, what’s your alternative?
You have to persist with him as reality is you sell him you lose £7 million in TV revenue anyway - with him you could stay in the league this season so get rid of hamer in January to keep the cash flow issue at bay. If he keeps performing his value will escalate
Really? Foreign clubs can open talks with him about a free transfer in little more than a year from now.
How much do you think we’d get for Hamer?
We seem to expect robins to keep producing miricales year in year out,but how long is he prepared to put up with sisu,as think a real opportunity gets offered at some point he will eventually take it.Backing the team and having concern for our financial situation are not mutually exclusive . After saying on Tuesday that the club essentially has serious financial problems what is the plan, the strategy to get us through? We have been told the problems now we need the solutions. No player sales until January earliest, and this seasons cash flows will be all over the shop with the World Cup shut down, rocketing utility prices, wage inflation (its not just players to pay), inflation generally etc
Personally i don't get any comfort from other teams did, the situation for those teams was different if you look at their financials and the levels of owner support or even the significant player sales also very different. Its a pointless comparison
In one sense retaining the "three" is great news, it gives the team better prospects on the pitch - assuming the results pick up. Boddy statement yesterday was playing to the crowd "didnt we do well". Couldn't have sold at least one of them because of injury. Did any other enquiries even test the owners resolve?
on the other hand we all know we have to sell players to survive, and we have sold one player Hyam for a reported £1.5m. To put that in context that is around one months wages bill. Not selling now probably means that in January it will be essential to do so.
We are also relying on MR to pull another rabbit out of the hat this season to keep us comfortable in this division. How many seasons can he keep doing that
Wont do anything other than back the team, never have done for over 50years, but tough times ahead financially and for a time at least on the pitch. I think any sky blue supporter should be concerned
But yes above that the team needs our support. Needs us all to lift and help them. PUSB's
i have no ideas but if we get £4 million it keeps the wolf from the door - selling our premium striker in January hasn’t historically worked well. You stick or twist - I’d stick at all cost as if he keeps performing he’s value will escalate
Who suggested selling him in January?
The strategy of death by a thousand cuts and letting our most valuable assets wind down their contracts while the team struggled hasn’t worked great historically either.
