The mighty SISU lawyers would certainly have already known that, wouldn't they?...Just shows they talk s**t about a "New Stadium then doesn't it?So what was the crap coming from SISU about CCC won't let us build a Stadium inside Coventry's boundary then.
The mighty SISU lawyers would certainly have already known that, wouldn't they?...Just shows they talk s**t about a "New Stadium then doesn't it?No they don't, if they refuse you appeal to the secretary of state.
Wasps deputy chief has just spoken about today's developments. He's happy for CCFC to stay but club is free to do what is best for them. It doesn't matter if CCFC leave the Ricoh.
Ahh! but not on "Match Days" apparently.Could park at the Ricoh and get the train into the city centre and then walk at least the station at the Ricoh would get some use
So what was the crap coming from SISU about CCC won't let us build a Stadium inside Coventry's boundary then.
But are SISU?So as it stands, based on what they all say today.
Wasps are happy for CCFC to go to the Butts.
CCC are happy for CCFC to go to the Butts.
CRFC are happy for CCFC to go to the Butts.
CCFC are happy for CCFC to go to the Butts.
It doesn't matter if CCFC leave the Ricoh.
Are you referring to the meeting Fisher had with RBC to supposedly persuade them to allow a stadium to be built there? "There are investors interested, so long as the physical resource is outside of Coventry due to Coventry Council attempting a hostile takeover of the club they don’t wish to invest in Coventry”
Or are you referring to Matton comments about there being no possible site within the city boundary for a new stadium. The key word there is new, this wouldn't be a new site.
Italia SBK and Senior Thick aren't too chuffed to be fair. Tony says he's unsure that moving into a stadium owned by a rugby club may be right for "his" team, OSB has concerns on parking (rather odd given there is nowhere to park at the Ricoh) and dongle is avoiding all questions on the councils apparent attempt to strangle at birth this concept. So as it stands, based on what they all say today.

we've been told on many occasions (particularly during the rent dispute) that funding/investors were lined up for a new stadium if a location could be found.I doubt SISU would put the money in. I can see them trying to raise it by naming rights or something like the bonds.
All irrelevant as Coventry City haven't managed an average attendance of 25k or more since 1971, and in the last 25 years have had an average in excess of 20k on just 5 occasions, that's with an away allocation of circa 6k at the Ricoh and 4k at HR.
and dongle is avoiding all questions on the councils apparent attempt to strangle at birth this concept.
I'm talking about the "Original flounce" by Tim Fisher about "Being kicked out of the Ricoh" when the total opposite was the case. Then the "We're going to build a Stadium outside, but no further than 8 miles from the City Centre."Are you referring to the meeting Fisher had with RBC to supposedly persuade them to allow a stadium to be built there? "There are investors interested, so long as the physical resource is outside of Coventry due to Coventry Council attempting a hostile takeover of the club they don’t wish to invest in Coventry”

But the whole point of my listing these is because they are nearly all expanding
I would say it is irrelevant going back 25 years because clubs then had smaller capacities than they do now in many cases.
My whole argument is that surely we want to be looking for a stadium to cater for us for the next 50 years plus.
We have had very little success at all these past 25 years. We have success, attendances will increase.
We need to look for a new home and one tied in with Cov sounds brilliant in theory, but we need to look past just the now and we need foundations for many, many years to come.
In theory I love the Butts concept.
Going back to 1971 we've had 30 years on the top flight, an FA Cup win, two league cup semi finals. The most successful period in the club's history really. But the whole point of my listing these is because they are nearly all expanding

don't like using Bournemouth as an example as their success has nothing to do with gates or fanbase just a massive investment from owners into playing side. A wage bill of well over 30 million in their promotion season has nothing to do with ticket money, F&B or other stadium income.Bournemouth have had massive success on 11K. So what if we start at 15K. In the last decade how many times have we needed the full capacity of the Ricoh? We have to start somewhere. I think a smaller capacity will drive the demand for tickets if we do well and that can only be a good thing. It might be an issue in a decade or three, but it's not an issue now, I don't think.
Heard that one before...Wasps deputy chief has just spoken about today's developments. He's happy for CCFC to stay but club is free to do what is best for them. It doesn't matter if CCFC leave the Ricoh.

Everyone else seems on board.
They all "want" to expand maybe. But do Charlton need a 40K stadium for example? Just because someone else wants to do something doesn't mean to say it'll happen or it's a sensible idea.
Earlsdon Park Village opens this summer, bringing older people into the heart of community life here in Earlsdon.
As part of our community engagement programme, we already have a strong and positive relationship with the Rugby Club and will continue to work with them to help ensure any proposals take into consideration our residents’ aspirations and interests.
I would be happy with the site but not a he capacity. Otis is right...clubs are expanding capacity.
The argument about comparing gates 25 years ago is meaningless as virtually no club had bigger gates regularly back then.
If we have ambition on the pitch we should have ambition off it. Successful clubs will look to expand the fanbase attending matches.
Let's see how ambitious SISU are. Let's see how ambitious CCFC are and let's see if ccc want a successful vibrant and well supported football club as part of the future of the city.

Simon is still going on like he has won the internet. Very arrogant.
problem wasn't the capacity at HR. HR was ours. And of course we regularly hear the 'we should never have left HR' line. Capacity at HR was 23,489.
I like that everything is written along the lines of "the story WE broke", etc. He probably looked on here at 9.51.
Currently the plans to 25k would hold good in the Championship. If we made it back the top flight that's where the issue will come?
What then? Do we then build another stadium or are Sisu hoping Wasps will be bankrupt by then and go and buy the Ricoh.
Italia is just being sensible. You start putting the SISU flags up ................ I'll wait.
Can't sign anything with the council blocking it can we?
