They have an underground. They can park anywhere outside London and train in.
Wanting to hear plans and figures before getting behind it, how dare you Tony.
But as I say, NOW the trend is to expand. Wasn't back then for the majority of clubs.
Would people agree it would have to be expandable to 25,000 to be anything like a goer?
15,000 in the Championship would leave us one of the poorer boys in terms of comparable success for revenue.
25,000 would be fine for the Championship, but wouldn't be good enough for us to make any real indentation in the Premier I wouldn't have thought.
CRC have said in so many words that 25,000 is too big for them, so CCFC would have to make a very long term commitment.
Where would we like to see the club in 10-15 years? Challenging perhaps for a Europa League place like Southampton?
I just wish the Butts had more scope for expansion. Doesn't have to be immediate, but for the future and seasons to come should this club of ours enjoys period of success.
I'm not saying I don't. Mincing around Butts does have a good ring about it though

I'd go and have a sit down if I were you Dave.... I said "Original flounce" by Fisher on leaving for Northampton. The Football League told SISU any "New Stadium" had to be built within 8 miles of Earl Street, which if I'm not mistaken is in the centre of Coventry. Those quotes I've made are from the time of leaving the Ricoh.
So "if" and "hypothetically"?Thing is with expansion, say we had the BPA set up right now with 15K capacity, that's great for us now. Then we get Villa or someone at home, we'd be missing out on revenue.
The other thing is, again hypothetically, we have a 15K BPA right now, we get promoted this season, and go up to Ch'ship. We then start planning permission to expand etc, but get relegated back to L1, so cancel it. It's not like upgrading on a computer game, it takes years to upgrade a stadium, and in that time we are missing out on revenue, when we desperately need it to keep at the level we need the bigger stadium, but can easily get relegated again in that time.
Which tube station do you get off at for the Etihad?

It's all about ambition and balls . Our owners have neither
If it happens its a great idea
But
It will require more than just building a stadium. There will need to be infra structure improvements, road improvements etc. Improvements to bus and rail links coincide with match days or are viable 7 days per week. Yes it will bring people in to the City which is good news, but sorry CD it is going to need new car parking the existing 8000 you identify wont be enough to take the extra traffic imo.
I know Jon S says it will be all private money but I do not see how it will be given the other issues to be addressed. That could add massively to the total cost. Who is expected to build say the extra car parking?
The car parking is a red herring it does not need to be "on site" car parking - the Ricoh is evidence of that
Too many obstacles in the way including funding the proposed stadium. Cov rugby can't afford it and can we?

I know. It's almost like the clubs future is the most important thing to me in all of this

The other thing is, certain backroom staff....okay might not be right people to take us to next level? But their long services deserved recognition!(Genuinely) would you like to give a bit more detail and a spot of context?
Lol just like Ricoh. Just can't see it happeningCould always get a loan off CCC.
So what do you suggest? The Ricoh is gone. CCC have said there is no possible site for a new stadium within the city boundary.
So we either stay at the Ricoh as tenants, move somewhere like the Butts or move out of the city.
Nobody is saying lets start playing at the Butts as it is now next season. Lets look at all the options and see what works out best.
Exactly I would rather the millions spent on a new ground spent on getting us in the championship. Earlier in the season when we were top we got 17k! The fan base is there if we're succeeding on the pitch. Invest in the team not a new ground! SimplesStay at the Ricoh on a long term negotiated deal . Stay close to Wasps in case they fail so we can step in . Give Mobray some funds to get out of this division . Get closer to the fans and talk . Learn how to work with people rather than try and batter them in court . All pretty obvious stuff really .
Don't worry Lurker, they're going to put a LIDL next to it who'll pay for most of it (though that and having a Community gym will reduce the capacity by 10,000 - - it's called vision?!?!)It's quite bizarre posters are talking like they know the facts.
No planning permission has been approved yet so no-one knows anything yet. I for one doesn't think it'll happen. Too many obstacles in the way including funding the proposed stadium. Cov rugby can't afford it and can we?

Yes, but those days standing in the West End had atmosphere - and the restricted view didn't matter, to me at least, but, I was younger then and prefer sitting in the Ricoh nowadays ..Yep. Went in the West End and the Kop and the sound just didn't reverberate around the stadium well at all.
There were also restricted views in the West Stand and M&B Stand too.
Don't they have billionaire owners too?In the modern game it does not really matter about how big your stadium is most of the revenue comes from TV money at the higher end, look at Bournemouth?

But it only seems like people who don't currently go are bothered? It matters if you cannot get in to see your team...
