Torp looked good didn’t he, put in that one absolute beaut of a cross. Excited to see how he progresses next year as I think he’s a technically excellent player, just needs to get fully up to speed with intensity of league and role in team
That cross was superb, probably caught our players off guard a little

Clearly not

Well he clearly does. Look at the start of their careers, one was obviously more naturally talented than the other.

Like I say, that doesn't make him a better player though or that he would have a better career.

I don't think this is a controversial statement.

Palmer is at the same time one of the best and also most frustrating players we’ve had at the club in the last 10-15 years. In full flight he is majestic, but then overplays it and does something daft. The good news is that as time goes on the majestic is outweighing the daft, and he is still getting better.
Still bloody maddening on occasions though!
Quite. Why do something in 2 touches when you can do it in 12? 🙄

Which attributes is he clearly more talented in?

He’s 27!

Also on what evidence? When has Palmer ever been as dangerous as O’Hare was in that spell early in the year?
Ohare is now being marked alot more closely than he was in that period when teams clearly didnt consider him as big of a threat as he was presumably because after a year out managers just didnt expect him to be as dangerous, or perhaps just forgot about him (some management teams arent that great!)
Ohare has yet to show he can cope with the manhandling week in week out since he came back. He also seems to have lost a yard. Palmer oth is better than we have ever seen him, and seems one of these young men who was very immature in their early 20's but as they get older realise the error of their ways professionally and want to fulfil their potential. I think we need an upgrade on both for the no10 role but we need to keep one as back up/competition and for me Palmer would be the better bet anyway (its irrelevant as Ohare is off anyway)

Passing and vision is miles above O’Hares, he’s stronger and a better set piece taker, probably about as skillful, more useful with his drives with the ball and less likely to end up down a cul de sac. Better shot from range, finishing hard to say cos O’Hare for three years and O’Hare for three months are very different.

Would disagree on nearly all the above.

Passing and vision they are similar, Palmer probably try more passes over a long distance which are often executed poorly where as O'Hare better with weight of pass and deft touches in around the penalty area.
O'Hare better close control and dribbling in tight spaces. O'Hare better finisher, Palmer probably marginally better at set pieces and long distance shooting but I wouldn't call it a strength for either of them.

I think Palmers final ball is light years ahead of O’Hares.

Some of the comments on here about O'Hare are outrageous. We expect players to be loyal and we treat a great servant like him in this way.
Can we stop with this servant cliche …. He joined us freely, has been hugely well paid, and now is walking off freely after a relatively short spell with us. Great personality, very likeable … yes all true but certainly not a servant ….

O hare needed bringing back in yesterday

sadly when palmer has a point to prove or is trying to get into the side is brilliant but once he’s got a spot he rests on his laurels, he isn’t good enough to play at number 10 consistently and never will be

OK I take servant is a football cliché. However, he has been here 5 years, which isn't short these days, and there aren't many players who were here when he arrived. The main point I was making is that he has worked exceptionally hard and contributed massively during his period here. The criticism is totally unjustified and there is no evidence he has not been trying.

It really isn't

He frequently gives the ball away in key positions with poorly executed passes

One of O hares strengths also is his ability to track back and push opposition deep into our midfield central pairing. Palmer is utterly incapable of doing that

Posters constantly lambasted O Hare and also Allen as not being good enough as number 10s as they don’t score goals.

Kasey Palmer has now scored 1 in 33 league games and only 3 as a number 10 in 2 years.

He’s inconsistent - can deliver dire performances one week and 7 and 8 out of 10 another. His career is what it is at his age for a reason.

I like Palmer and think he plays some great stuff when on it; however he struggles to play more than 60 minutes or twice in a week. As a professional athlete that’s poor. Two games in three days and after playing for Jamaica you knew he was going to fade.

O’Hare isn’t tearing up trees but he’s the better player. We have a big game coming up against Leeds and he should start.

One month left of the season and his career at City, let’s see if he can drag us over the line. He’s been rested and with two top teams coming up let’s see him go out with a bang.

Wright, Latibeaudiere and Palmer were all well below their usual level yesterday. Hardly surprising considering they had played four games in 10 days as well as travelling to the US and back.

Need to start on Saturday instead of Palmer

I like Palmer but he is so inconsistent and needed to come off sooner yesterday

O'Hare has higher goal creating actions and shot creating actions than Palmer albeit not by a great deal.

The key stat for me is progressive passes received, this is where O'Hare performs better. This is literally him breaking the lines to get on the ball and open the game up.

Palmer has delivered many performances like that over the last two seasons

O'Hare is better in pretty much all the playmaking stats per 90 but apparently Palmer should get the start because his plasterer has to use a stepladder?

I like them both
We are more open when palmer plays as he doesn’t have Ohares energy
The Cardiff game was the perfect game with eccles covering
Ohare should play against Leeds as we need more energy
They are both excellent
We didn’t lose against Cardiff cos of Ohare or palmer though

It's telling that we have gone from Palmer won't play if Allen is fit to Palmer Vs o hare 😂😁😂😁
I agree because I'm not bias

palmer frequently plays like that

Anybody had more info to shine a light on this.

From what I've heard he's definitely off this summer but not heard a peep about a club.

Is he actually just going to leave it to the summer and take his pick? Just thought there would be credible rumblings about potential suitors now.

I'm sure he's got plenty of options, good player and wish him all the best, hopefully he starts tomorrow so we don't have to watch Palmer needlessly give it away all the time
