O hare has fucked it or probably mostly his agent. He is a championship level player and that’s where he will probably end up. I love the guy I felt a real connection to him and his playing style. Never gave up.

His issue will be a better team than us will have higher expectations and he becomes just another player rather than a star. No one will chant his name he will be on the subs bench very quickly. I hope it was worth the 4k extra a week.

Not even sure sheffield united will have a better team than us atm

He’s given up familiarity, relationships, good management team to continue his development with, bond with players and game time for what, an extra £10K a week? I think we are in a better position than sheff U at the moment. Bizarre move if true.

An extra £500,000 a year is a lot of money over a contract, especially when you've experienced a bad injury

Serious question , would he start for us right now? I don't think he would and I like him
Not in my opinion and the club were totally right not to offer him wages on par with Wright, Simms, MVE and Co... despite what that dork Dawkins thinks.

Personally think he probably would if he could get his head down. Prefer him in that position to Palmer and I've not really seen Rudoni play much to assess.

Overall though I think the squad feels in a much better place to lose someone like O'Hare than if it was last summer

Leeds are going to be the one to watch and where they're going in the league.

Last year must of hurt them bad not getting promoted. Think we will see the repercussions for them this year.

Just bought back their stadium as well. Can't be much cash floating around I would of thought.

They will need a massive rebuild, Summerville, Gnonto, Kamara & Rutter all likely off.

Obviously they have the draw to get in quality replacements but that's a lot of players to bed in and hope click quickly

He has well a truly fucked it.

Lesson to all young players not to listen to their agents too much.

I hope when we play them next March he is sat on the bench and they are in mid table while we spank them on a push for autos and loudly chant "Callum O'Hare, this could have been you" and he hates every second of it.

They keep 'taking' people on, but they can't sign anyone until the takeover goes through, at the moment they're broke so why would anyone think of going there??
Promise of money tomorrow is just that, a promise not a guarantee.
They have taken out a loan to be able to fund transfers until the t/o is complete. Remember, they have parachute payments also.
They'll get money in from sales too.

I haven't trawled through all the pages so don't know if its been mentioned.
Clive on on CWR sport at 6 a week or so ago said he heard Cal had a deal in place with Blues that went belly up when they were relegated. Big wages promised.
So, in comparison, he has done OK with Sheffield Utd 🤣
Just my take but maybe the injury shook him and he no longer backs himself to make it in PL. So he is looking to maximise a short career at a level he is comfortable. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Yea I was wrong it's 9/2 View attachment 36877

I have left this stuff up from last season and fixed the glaring error in the last chart.

Well worth a look if you've missed it.

And just in case Basil wondered what's it all about.

I believe it's the next step up from what's talked about in the paper below.

You can also add on a very hefty signing on fee, and no doubt a nice big bonus if they achieve promotion.

If its true that we could of secured his services for £20k a week then I think we've missed out on a player with proven quality at this level. £20k a week is £3million over a 3 year contract. When you consider what we paid for the likes of Kitching (just 1 example) and add his wages on top then O'hare would of been good value imo. We also paid £4.5million for EMC (plus wages) who is unproven at this level.

Let’s move on. He’s no longer our player. I thank him for his service, but hope he’s a flop from this point forward.
