Should have had the lightly poached monkfish tail served on a bed of quinoa with an artichoke foam.

Not sure about the monks fishy tail? Whatever the bed is made out of? Plus no foaming please 😂

Worst chippy...... Radford Rd is wank, but the worst in Cov has to be Mr M's in Cheylsmore. Went in there for a scallop batch and he gave me a free fish cake and battered sausage if I left a good review. Sausage tasted of fish and fish cake tasted like sloppy sand. I only wanted a fucking Scallop batch.

Going back a few years, but I used to live in Whitley Village, by the Royal Oak and used to wander down to the chippy on the corner of the row of shops in Cheylesmore (diagonally opposite the now closed Cheylesmore pub). I was astounded when the owner made the decision to buy the greengrocer's? next door and extend his chip shop into a sit down cafe. It was the worst business decision I thought I'd ever seen at the time - who was going to take their better half for a sit down fish and chip meal? if it had been at the sea-side - fair enough, great decision. But the middle of Cheylesmore? Rarely saw anyone in it (somebody will tell me it turned into a goldmine)

P.S. I bet the Sheff Utd fans coming on here to see how upset we are at losing C O'H will be somewhat bemused by this thread :ROFLMAO:

I’m staying in Kenilworth Monday night so where’s the best chippy ?
It was always School Lane for the longest time. No idea if that's still the case, I just go to Chips and Fishes when I go to my parents as its walking distance. Decent enough.

I went there for fish and chips, the fish had been re battered that many times there was no fish left, just the batter.
Dinos, (lovely fella) runs the place and it's fuckin terrible.
Avoid at all costs, you have been warned 🤢

Driven past there plenty of times, any good?
It was alright tbf, only a kid's portion though,my neck of Woods is Barras chippy and they do an excellent piece of haddock and huge pile of chips for around a tenner!
Try to go in about once a month to keep the place going!

I used to know the daughter of the chap (and therefore the family) who ran that chippy and I can confirm it was a goldmine!

Didn’t think I’d be nostalgic over a Coventry chippy when I woke up this morning!
