It kind of has been a mess since the start of last season and the 'rebuilding' of the squad. We should really be pushing on now, rather than regressing so badly. Is it ? I'm not sure it is .
Saying the last 18 months haven't been a mess isn't based on emotion , they simply haven't

One thing I noticed yesterday was that Frank Lampard was very vocal from the technical area and pointing out to some players where they needed to be etc.Yeah, I'm not saying that's the one and only issue. But it is an issue.
Someone was telling me yesterday that McFadz rarely gets, say minutes at Blackburn but he's always warming up and shouting instructions to the defence, we miss that.
Didn’t Simms score 6 of his goals against Maidstone and a very poor Rotherham side ?!Of course not.
People have forgotten how crap they were saying Simms was last season.....until he hit his purple patch.
We might not see the best of BTA or EMC until next season.
Some hit the ground running, others take time to show their worth
That's not to say I am not concerned about Simms seemingly going backwards again this year.
I wouldn't hold my breathOne positive of FL coming in is being Kings pick and a big name he should carry a lot of weight and hopefully King will listen to him when he needs to.
All the emotion is on the side of the people desperately scared they’ve advocated the wrong way and now running around jumping on and criticism and desperately trying to play down the last eight years.
As I said yesterday if Robins has assembled a shit squad, and is a shit manager, then the absolute lowest any manager should be getting with them is 9th and a few cup giant killings. Cos that’s what a shit a manager did. There’s just no logical consistency to their arguments. Just raw “we should be better!!!!1!”
But 2 against Wolves and one against Man Utd in big games when we needed to come back from behind.Didn’t Simms score 6 of his goals against Maidstone and a very poor Rotherham side ?!
True enoughBut 2 against Wolves and one against Man Utd in big games when we needed to come back from behind.
Yeah, but he suddenly looked a lot better when he hit that form.Didn’t Simms score 6 of his goals against Maidstone and a very poor Rotherham side ?!

Yeh I agree, I think we all did.
Lampard has been in the job for 3 days
We’re not in the relegation zone
We’re scoring plenty of goals
Our best player will return from injury soon
We’ve got Jan coming up to address issues with the squad
Stop losing your minds over a DRAW.
We’ll be fine this season. We’re not getting relegated. We’ve seen what these players can do. Calm the fuck down and stop shitting the forum up with threads about how all our players are shit and other associated bollox.
Will say as a positive (rewatching the game), the first half was decent for a first match.
Stupid first goal to concede as no one even marking the player for them but got back into it, was happy to see us running at players and thought there was some clever play. Great ball by tats to get us in it and happy for Mason to get one.
Don’t know what happened second half as all intensity and almost interest drained from the lads when they came back out and we concede a stupid goal. Happy we drew but we need better than draws.
First game, will be interesting to see how we are at Millwall, will take time to get the lads confidence back and learn the new tactic and shape (seemed to be a few times where we seemed a bit confused and hesitant on the ball and in defence).
Having reflected don’t think it’ll do Milan any good to drop him right now, but need to get into his head. I know people will talk about Round pegs and square holes but feel Jack Rudoni should move to tats role and play in the half space for Millwall and to bring Binks to play the left back role just to offer some defence shape (plus he did well at moving the ball forward in the back three).
Not sure if Collins has a good chance of saving either but still want Dovin to come in to start developing
I thought Tats and EMC were pretty fluid first half drifting inside when the other had the ball. EMC will suit that better.Gonna sound really dumb but I play a sort of 433 in FUT that’s similar with the wide forwards more like AMs and the midfielders wider like a 4321 or even a 4141 more than a 4231 or 433.
I put wingers in those positions at first, but the spaces they take up aren’t quite right. It can work really well to create overloads, but mostly those players are picking it up in the space at the corners of the box or near the centre circle more than on the flanks, the fullbacks and wide central mids do more of the overlapping runs down the wings.
I think EMC can play that role a bit as he cuts in and wants to hit the back post, but Tats is at his best out wide. Not sure if he could play the wide right CM slot and Rudoni on the left, but we haven’t got the right AM type to play his narrower role. Palmer or O’Hare would have been perfect.
See I don’t think that’s dumb personally. I know video game and all that but helps people visualise the idea. Use FM for the same reason.Gonna sound really dumb but I play a sort of 433 in FUT that’s similar with the wide forwards more like AMs and the midfielders wider like a 4321 or even a 4141 more than a 4231 or 433.

This is the decision I didn’t get at all. Lampard teams love to cross, was surprised to see Simms not start as he’s the ideal model for this.I thought Tats and EMC were pretty fluid first half drifting inside when the other had the ball. EMC will suit that better.
I feel like Simms would have have been a better fit than Norm especially first half. We needed a more physically imposing target in the middle. I'd have backed him to bury one of the headed opportunities that we passed up.
Norman needs space to burst into which just wasn't there yesterday, maybe needs to be used in games we chasing on the counter until he bulks up a bit.
What mess are you specifically referring too ? The same players were getting results last season
18 months ago we made a playoff final , 7 months ago an fa cup semi final and 6 months ago we finished 9th In the championship
Alot of The last 18 months have been some of the best the clubs had since the Premier league
I think it's more people trying to work out how, while we're conceding 2 goals a game, we're not playing a defender we spent over £4m on.Few people said the same. If true you’d think something would leak.
Yeah, maybe we could employ someone with a doctorate who specialises in sports psychology....All the decisions made sense in isolation. But the culmination of them all is disastrous. You’d think someone is keeping an eye on the psychological mix of the squad and staff.
Which reminds me @shmmeee Doug offered you the chance to speak directly to Dr Claire. How was it?Yeah, maybe we could employ someone with a doctorate who specialises in sports psychology....
That's my biggest worry ! Just over a week ago DK said to the media when asked if we could add to the deck in January 'How many more players could possibly needed 8,9,10' or something along those lines. At the start of this season the common theme amongst those that watch us was defensive and midfield positions need improments, I don't recall anyone suggesting he should sanction 2 more strikersAs long as Frank is allowed to bring in a few players in January we will be fine. A change of formation could sort out the defence. Let's try having a couple of defenders to defend and not keep trying to attack.
There's a long way to go. Not worried in the slightest yet. But if we're in the same situation at the end of January the worry will start setting in.
At the forumDid he?
At the forum
Not by name but by reference to the posts I thinkMust have missed that. Me personally?
Must be on this forum - if not would fit in perfectly.Well sai
Well said. We are all disappointed. We know there are issues to fix but now it's the time to lose your mind. 2 days training is no base to judge anything off.
Whilst I'm here I've got call out the bloke sat on his own in east stand block 25 SS yesterday. Fucking embarrassment. It was like having the world angriest audio description on the entire match. From minute one he was shouting top of his lungs jumping on everything the players did, zero consistency raging if they didn't put a cross in, losing his mind when they did because we aren't big enough to score. That sort of bollocks. Calling players cunts for not doing exactly what he would have the moment they received the ball.
Literally everyone around were rolling they eyes when he opened his gob. Grim. Not arsed about the language but did tell my lad that it's totally pointless being that angry all the time, if you start out at that level of anger you have nowhere to go when something actually bad happens.. plus every thinks you're are embarrassing.
Well he’s had some good games for us in the past so I guess he’s a bad eggI think it's more people trying to work out how, while we're conceding 2 goals a game, we're not playing a defender we spent over £4m on.
It's either we got absolutely done because he's shit or he's a bad egg.
Well he’s had some good games for us in the past so I guess he’s a bad egg. Though not heard that expression since reading Wiily Wonka as a kid.
Yup. It's just a slippery slope through Wyken and then on to Wood End.I just hope we aren’t turning into Stoke
