They finished 9th and reached a cup semi final , they are not shit

Which means the poor start to the season was down to Robins then?

We were given a lifeline by the referee today, and we failed to make that advantage count. I will say what I have said several times, and the problems we have are largely down to the players themselves. The selective application of most of them is shocking and Lampard/Robins don't really come into it in that respect. Of course there are many fair criticisms further down, but I really think the players themselves are too weak mentally and lack the application needed to be consistently successful.

MvE just looks like Dabo in disguise, and that run he made only to turn back and pass it to one of our CB's sums it up perfectly. He's fallen off a cliff as a player. Sheaf is getting a lot of stick today, but his scores will still be pretty high on the stat websites because he just passes a lot in safe positions. I'm not seeing anything today that is particularly worse than I usually see from him, I think people are just starting to notice how much of an issue he is for the team and it is finally catching on. He is one of a few players that realistically need to be moved on as soon as possible.

I am very curious how the transfer window will go, but we need some help definitely. Today was another game that has gone by which frankly isn't good enough. Sad to see really. Happy New Year to all on SBT!

To state the obvious Lampard has to radically change our midfield as a top priority. It's been like this for a long while now, it isn't going to change with this personnel.

They fundamentally aren't good enough. They know they're not good enough and take the cowards way out again and again.
What's worse is they lack physical athleticism, speed, aggression.

Agree, but it’s a moot point.

Different manager now with different ideas, surely that’s the point?

This is kind of it really, Lampard now needs to get busy and put his stamp on things, because for whatever reason- and we can argue & speculate all day as to why- he’s not been able to change things for the better yet. Let’s see what the window brings.

We are devoid of game changers. Vik and Hamer were that in amongst an arguably even poorer selection of players. They are the sort to lift and inspire the people around them to be better.

Wright and EMC arer closest we've got, but not convinced they are the same level.

And not having someone of this mould in midfield is killing us. It should be Sheaf - it arguably has been Sheaf previously - but this year he's a shell of a player.

I'm still dumbfounded by the drop off from last season though...

He has improved results but hey ho

Doesn't quite work does it?
Least you might get a couple of likes and ring of steel trying to give you a reach around.

It seems that when it's pointed out that people are being embarrassing still crying about robins every week, the best come back is "get used to it and log out" 🤣🤣

Nice one, it's like Eminem writing Stan some of the posts on here with their fan fiction.

MR wasn't sacked off the back of one game. It took a long time for most people who finally turned to wanting him out to get to that point.
He wasn’t. But you have Grendel jumping through hoops to defend performances like this simply because it isn’t Robins in charge.

The decision to go 4-2-4 was plain bonkers.

Comfortable with sacking Robins but saying the squad is the issue. If the squad is the issue, what was the point of sacking the manager? Especially when the bloke who sacked him thinks the squad is top 6 and Lampard is elite. The reality is (at times) since Lampard came in, we’ve played some of the worst football I’ve seen in years.

That said, it’s still early and Lampard needs time, along with the ability to bring in his own players.

Now do Robins’ first 8 games of the season
Stoke N/a lost 1-0
Oxford 5th won 3-2
Bristol 7th drew 1-1
Norwich 20th lost 1-0
Watford 3rd drew 2-2
Swansea 11th lost 2-1
Leeds 6th lost 3-0
Blackburn 2nd won 4-0

So ignoring Stoke as it was the first game of the season and therefore no one had a league position, 6 of the other 7 first games of the we played a team that was in the top half, 4 of which were in the play offs at the time we played them.

Why are you fixated on Robins? I'm talking about Lampard being inept. He's in charge of the team. I don't think there's anything wrong with the players, so I blame him.

It isn’t complicated.

If you change managers and you’re still crap, it means the players are crap. It doesn’t matter who the manager is

Other than Leeds that's not the hardest fixture lidt in world on paper?

Just shows championship is tough no matter who you play
