And stack it full of clauses

I prefer money up front, clauses is always a gamble.

Callum Wilsons England cap got us a measily £30k

We still haven’t got money for Maddison’s England cap because he has to actually start for England and who knows if he will get another England chance

Gyo will get more caps for Sweden but even ignoring that, there’s % sell on, appearance targets, goal targets etc which if a club buying him think he’s any good they’ll agree.

Just seen the lad Liverpool signed today is for £80 million initially but the clauses can take it to £100 mill.

And now Kompany finally confirmed at Burnley.

Another interesting one, they've lost a few key players and with a big chunk of their loan (£40m+?) being called in during the summer will they be able to give him the signings he wants/needs? Talk of them targetting younger players to bring the age of the squad down and probably hoping Kompany can work with and develop them

What was his record as manager of Anderlecht like?

I think they're going to be a test bed for Man City youth players

Without checking, absolutely no idea.

With checking and no context at all they finished 3rd, 11 points off 1st so like @rexo87 said pretty underwhelming

Edit - from the BBC article "Kompany retired from playing and took over as manager in August 2020, after which Anderlecht won 41, lost 19 and drew 30 of his 90 games."

He was left with a young Anderlecht squad and relied a lot on developing the academy players. They finished in the top 4 but were behind Union who were promoted from 2nd division last season, Anderlecht have replaced Kompany with Union's manager, there will be more pressure on him to succeed & I wouldn't be surprised if he is gone by Christmas.

Jon Dahl Tomasson in as Blackburn manager. Taken Malmo to 2 Swedish titles in a row after a run of assistant jobs, be interested to see how much backing he gets

Winning the Swedish title with Malmo is about as obvious as Ajax winning it in The Netherlands. They have the biggest budget by a mile so it would be more of a shock if they didn't win the league two years on the bounce really. Be interesting to see how he gets on with Blackburn, they are a bit of a basket case, but also tend to spend a lot of money.
