Good luck to him. A decent enough player & although I would have been happy enough to have signed him, I can't say I'm overly bothered about missing out on him. Came across as a fairly quiet lad who didn't fit neatly into the team dynamic, so hopefully we can find someone who is a better fit.

Luton pulled off another transfer coup by getting Barnsley’s best player Cawley Woodrow undisclosed!

13/2 to get promoted as it stands. Might be worth a tickle.

Edit: 12/1 with 365!
One player, team and all that.

Also still got undeniable class, but is it just training sessions to keep himself fit for Wales? He's barely played in recent years (no fault of his own, but still). Free kicks would win them a few points, no doubt he'd inspire his teammates and bring out the fans but... not sure he'd transform them all by himself.

Pretty sure I read it was only short term to keep him ready for the World Cup. He’s a class player, but isn’t it more likely doing the bare minimum to keep match fit. Can’t see him going anywhere near any challenges.

Stick Hamer on him and smash him early.

Let Kane loose on him

To be honest, I was thinking either a tenner on and cash out if they start well, or a larger sum on in the hope that he signs and their odds tumble. Don’t necessarily think he could get them promoted by himself.

That's my plan. Put it on now... If he signs, then you probably have the opportunity to cash out for a profit even before a ball is kicked

Will probably knock it on the head after the WC so if we can just avoid Cardiff in tomorrows fixtures announcement until at least Boxing Day that should work out OK.

Very much doubt he will play every game in the Championship even if he joins them, so not sure he will make the big difference some on here seem to think. Would probably start very brightly while the weather's good and the feel good factor remains, but once the weekend/ midweek/ weekend grind sets in I would expect his influence to deteriorate. Then the closer to the World Cup the more likely he will be to tread carefully in games anyway. The one fixture you don't want though is away to Cardiff in Bale's first game for them, as he would definitely be up for that.

Yep agreed, if Bale joins Cardiff it will be to keep him ticking over in the run up to the world cup. Might pay off but feels like he'll be super cautious not to get injuries and as mentioned above I can't see the motivation to be there in January when the season resumes

Motivation would be playing for his hometown club, living where his family are, promote his businesses, generally be loved even more around the place…and continuing to play football of course. I think he probably quite likes it.

Rotherham are going to have a tough season, losing key players to League One

Wow - would have thought there would have been Championship interest for the pair of them. Not world beaters, but still have something to offer. So that's Rotherham, Birmingham plus AN other for relegation ?

And if they got relegated he would end up back in league one

I get your point, but one is more likely than the other (although I think West Brom will finish above them this season, and will probably be promoted - in fact if Bruce can't get them up this season, he needs to retire)

Speaking of talented attacking mids being signed: Millwall are apparently set to sign Zian Flemming from the Dutch league. £2.5m. Scored 22 goals in the last 2 seasons playing the O'Hare role and as a striker.

I've mentioned him on here before, I think others have too. Oh well.
