See, it seems with vaccines, now is the time to hold their nerve unless confident.
The second dose is delayed today it said that both vaccines don’t need to have a second done in 3 weeks but can go to 12 weeks

This really worries me, since details of the vaccinations were first released, thus revealing the need for a follow up injection to complete one adequate dose, it just throws up an added complication and significantly increases the chances of errors being made. Now Hancock has said that elderly patients due to have a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be cancelled in order to vaccinate more people. Seems risky but probably shows what a crisis moment we're in.
I wouldn't fancy pushing it to it's limit, mind. Puts in place room for error, I'd have thought. The second dose is delayed today it said that both vaccines don’t need to have a second done in 3 weeks but can go to 12 weeks
You're right to be concerned given everything that's gone on but I remember Fauci saying that any vaccine that was over 60 percent effective would be enough to halt the virus. This really worries me, since details of the vaccinations were first released, thus revealing the need for a follow up injection to complete one adequate dose, it just throws up an added complication and significantly increases the chances of errors being made.
Given the Government’s record on Covid19 decision making, to hear now that they are contemplating changing tack after having already started administering the vaccine fills me with dread.
The vaccine is our only hope of returning to something like normal this year, hearing Hancock coming out with stuff like this shakes my already brittle confidence to the core.
Please just hold your nerve and roll out the vaccine in the pre-agreed plan.
Given that both vaccines do that with one dose this may not be a bad idea.
Something half positive for half an hour
Not sure 60% is enough to restore public confidence mind you. You're right to be concerned given everything that's gone on but I remember Fauci saying that any vaccine that was over 60 percent effective would be enough to halt the virus.

Pfizer have now said their vaccine isn't designed to be used in two shots given 12 weeks apart, so much for following the science!
Hancock is just useless and the civil service has been filled with sycophantic non entities who no longer provide any challenge to ministersthey're fucking this up as well aren't they - great.
Why should I have expected anything different from the mob that spunked millions on snide PPE from a Turkish T shirt salesman.

You can have a Daily Mail link!Yeah I read that somewhere yesterday but can't find the link.
Essentially they are saying there is NO evidence it works (as well) giving the second shot after 12 weeks.

Questions over Britain's decision to drop two-dose vaccine regimen
Britain's medical regulator is now recommending Covid jabs are given in two doses three months apart, rather than over the intended four-week period, to deal with spiking Covid hospitalisations and cases.www.dailymail.co.uk
It's crazy isn't it? Most schools will be open... Hopefully schools will open... We're 10 months into this and they still make the same mistakes.Gavin Williamson - "Wants to give parents notice that hopefully schools will be reopening"
The details are overwhelming. On tenterhooks waiting to be told my lads school will hopefully be opening. I'll let my boss know that hopefully I'll be in next week.

Why aren’t they just sending the kids home with the tests and asking parents to administer the test the next morning before they go into school? Is there a reason for that? Because it sounds like they’re just finding ways of getting people to mix unnecessarily by inviting extra people into schools who may or may not have Covid to mix with a group of people who may or may not have Covid. Am I missing something here? Is there a specific reason why the test has to be administered on the school premises by people from outside your child’s bubble instead of at home just before they leave for school by someone in your child’s bubble and they simply hand it in to the form tutor when they get to school?Just received form from school what an absolutely nightmare!!
On the consent form for the kids it asks the parents for volunteers and what the shifts are and what’s required
The shifts are 8.30-12.30 and 12.15 to 3.15
Tues 5th to Friday 15th
Then possibly they will pay people

I’m working full time in what’s deemed a key role in hmrc but I’m gonna do a couple of shifts as we all need to pull together. I hope other parents feel the same
Was thinking that TBF but then you’d just test the kids who parents don’t take responsibility in the school exposing just them to a third party instead of the whole school. My guess would be that some parents don't even bother to feed their kids so wouldn't be trusted to do this. At least you know it's been done and can be logged if it's kept in school.

This is unbelievable and yet completely predictable,, come Autumn we will likely be looking back at a vaccination programme that resembles a confused fragmented casualty strewn battleground, whilst the virus gathers pace and takes off again.
Another missed opportunity by a completely incompetent government.
We are fucked.
Are all these volunteers also DBS checked?Just received form from school what an absolutely nightmare!!

What happened to the communicty mass testing that the governement said was being rolled out in Coventry weeks ago, did that ever happen?
Jeez. Just when you thought we’d seen the end of the would you rather live in (insert EU country here) line the direction of travel turns back to it. A sure sign that the government is fucking this up.
