Gove defending BJ's actions in Commons whilst the rag his wife works for tells the World!?Yep. The coup is on.

He's also got a face I would love to punch & I don't like violence!!He's the biggest arsehole in a government rife with them.
I'm almost willing to give the likes of Johnson and JRM a bit of leeway because their privileged upbringing gives them that mindset. Gove however was in care in Scotland and was adopted. He literally relied on the goodwill of strangers who owed him nothing to not end up just being another kid lost in the system. Yet he's the most self-centred dickhead going. No doubt he sees where he's got to as down to nothing but his own hard-work and abilities.
yeah they are to test show large scale sporting events can effect the spread of the virus.

They’re all like that though. At the heart of Tory ideology is the idea wealthy people are deserving of their wealth because they’re better than others. The flip side of that is those who aren’t wealthy also deserve their fate.
See also tin pot Tories like G going on about how he pulled himself up by his bootstraps and kids today don’t know the meaning of hard work, despite the mountains of evidence against him. Once it’s personal people will believe any old bollocks to protect their ego.
I can imagineI voted for them in the thatcher years - I was “president” of my university society and remember attended a meeting with a load of boring unfortunates who were demanding a big collection for the miners and the Marxist Scargill. I offered an alternate motion to collect for the police - I made a lot of friends that day.
Virtual cookie for the person who guesses what the Grendel society specialised in.I was “president” of my university society

Michael Gove was a communist at Uni I believe. A well worn path
The Labour society at my uni debated which of the Miliband was sexier while the Tories burned effigies of Obama and Gordon Brown
There is a very good reason student politics used to be kept in a hermetically sealed box away from voters.
I knew a guy that was a revolutionary communist at uni but not long after was involved in 'The Conservative European Federalists' or some such shit. I guess they don't exist anymore.Michael Gove was a communist at Uni I believe. A well worn path
Edit: looked it up, a Labour supporter at school, a Conservative at Uni. Close enough.
Just view it as an alternative test event...Agree with most of the points both of you make.
There have been different approaches and different acceptance levels for different protests. Some from the establishment and police, others from the public.
I couldn't really give a fuck what the protest is about to be honest. There is a pandemic. Should be zero tolerance on everything in my opinion. After that, sure, do your protest as long as it is peaceful.

Just heard Peston on the radio, he's spoken to 2 sources who aren't the one the leaked it that heard him say it. He said this isn't going away and at some point someone will go on record.Actions and words aligning perfectly
It’s so obvious Gove is behind this. The irony is that Johnson supposed comment is exactly the kind of shite that Sarah Vine would peddle.
Exactly. They’re protesting that our government hasn’t/isn’t doing an India even though as we speak India is paying the very expensive price for not behaving like our government. It’s a completely idiotic train of thought and there’s enough evidence to back up how idiotic these idiots are.Point isn’t the protest, point is they were protesting to say COVID isn’t harmful while tens of thousands die each day in India.
And yet, not so long ago, possibly in this thread, you went off on a rant about how kids today don’t know the meaning of hard work and you pulled yourself up by the bootstraps.
Vote for who you like, it’s the same mindset.
I always vote for the government I believe offers competence and substance and freedom for the individual - the 80’s was a very easy choice when the opposition was firstly a long past his best socialist with his strings pulled by Wedgwood Benn and then the incompetent welsh windbag
As do I, I just arrive at the opposite conclusion to your good self.
Funny thing is if you, NW and Shmeee are true to your words you’d have voted thatcher in the early 80’s as well
I guess we'll never know. I don't personally consider people more 'free' if for all of the civil liberties they are granted they don't earn enough to enjoy them in the first place.

Fucking everyone does that. That’s like saying “I only like to eat good food”.
And the majority always know what good food tastes like. You really need to find something better than tripe and onions - honestly there’s better out there
C+ you’ve done better.
Seriously though “individual freedom”? What do you think literally every political movement ever was trying to achieve? You think people are voting for less freedom?
“Substance”, “competence”, again, literally every voter ever votes for this stuff.
The point you’re spectacularly missing is the entire endeavour of politics exists because these are subjective and competing concepts.
Yeah me too shaking bucket's outside New Street and the Bullring.I voted for them in the thatcher years - I was “president” of my university society and remember attended a meeting with a load of boring unfortunates who were demanding a big collection for the miners and the Marxist Scargill. 5 donuts a day for 75p from Safeway can keep you going for 3 days of the week ,then egg or cheese on toast for the next 3 .And the majority always know what good food tastes like. You really need to find something better than tripe and onions - honestly there’s better out there
