Fuck me. Fist shaking? Have a day off mate.

They were pissed up twats, who spotted a recognisable bloke and wanted to get a few photos. Shouldn't have done it and they're pricks. But lose their job over it? Nah, not for me.
As for assault????

What are you arguing with , it’s the law

Common assault is defined as above gosh this is hard

I say not .

We need to try and establish the difference between common assault and 2 pissed up lads saying oy oyyyy and trying to hug you 🤣 fuck me if It was anybody else nobody would give a fuck.

Pull them in the station , tell them to stop being bellends and move on with life

It's only because the upper / middle class press .. who never hug anybody even their own children got outraged which lead to a twitter fake outrage surge for likes and follows..

Nothing to see move on

Sorry wingy the law is the law whatever you see that’s all. I’ll stop prattling on now
Hey it's fine Pete I think you know generally my perceptions largely from the political threads, I hope I have decent values.
Sometimes it's hard not to bend with the direction of the wind, but I just feel differently here regards getting the sack etc or that they in any way consciously intended fear or offence.
Some of the context/nuances around Whitty's personal situation complicate it all in retrospect but not in anyway on their behaviour being drunken lairy high spirits.

I’m sure you do have decent values absolutely. The test here though is not what they meant but the perception of the alleged victim but that is me prattling on again

I agree with you there, think the lads have been a bit silly. Like I've said elsewhere though, ultimately the government have made Whitty front some decisions that are not his and it's wrong.

Unbelievable that some think their behaviour was "a couple of pissed up lads being dicks", when it is totally disgusting, entitled, toxic behaviour.
It's the behaviour of bullies who should be charged with common assault.
I dread to think how those lads treat young women after a few drinks.

Petes right. It might be ludicrous but technically it's assault.
Obviously not everyone who does that is going to be charged with assault but they've done it to someone high profile and its gone viral so the law has been used against them unfortunately for them.

No law has gone against them I don't think. Fairly sure Whitty didn't want any action taken against them. Just one of the blokes boss saw fit to sack him on the back of it.

Scratch that, seems the lad has now been charged with common assault.

Moving on, the lack of Covid education this far into the pandemic is astounding. Got my little brother’s football presentation tomorrow and a parent offered to bake cakes, but was told not to “because of Covid”. Must have missed the bit where it started contaminating food.

Either that, or this parent is shite at baking, I suppose!
