Was on here yesterday but not posting, so hopefully is just focussing efforts on making his wife comfortable on her recovery.
I won't tag him, however, as should probably be his time to choose when to update from now on. Suffice to say, thoughts with him and his family however.

Hi all
Sorry for not posting updates just been the scariest week and a bit of my life
I will one day post everything that's been happening but as it stands my wife's stats stabilised Tuesday onwards and started to improve since Thursday
She has now been discharged from ICU and is on the regular ward still being weaned off oxygen if possible.
Not taking anything for granted and still praying for a full recovery.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers. I know not everyone is spiritual but I believe a higher power has heard them all.

positive news mate. Fully appreciate you don't want to get ahead of yourself and are taking it day by day but the fact she is out if ICU is a big step forward. Hope you are coping OK, you need to make sure you look after yourself because you can't look after your wife if you don't.

Good news, hopefully she will be home soon and with some strong anti bodies.
Some great news this week. Firstly and unsurprisingly it was confirmed that the risk of blood clots was considerably higher from covid than AZ (or Pfizer). Also, it’s now been found that AZ appears to be the most effective vaccine for keeping people out of hospital/dying.

Being discharged from ICU is no small achievement, that's a really good sign. Best of luck and hopefully this will be all behind you before too long. What a shitty experience, but I'm sure as a family you'll value each other 100 times more as a result of this and that has to be worth something.
If it helps, you didn't miss much today. We played well but lost, so fuck it. Take care!

“forcing people to get vaccinated” is a red herring. No country forces any vaccines on anyone, just makes them a requirement for certain jobs or activities.

For most medical staff it’s clear when they join a trust, here’s a document from 2019 for Gloucester NHS staff:
The precedent for this is well established. Why should we make an exception for COVID?

Yeah, my girlfriend was forced to have vaccines when working in the NHS despite already having them in Italy because the UK wouldn't accept her vaccine certificates for some weird reason. This sort of thing has been going on for ages yet now all of a sudden it's a problem?
