Stop getting tested, simple
I came down with cold earlier in the week and took a LFT just in case which came back negative. The cynic in me says I would've tested positive if I went for an official PCR test

Finally, if rumours are true about Sage pushing for a potential immediate ‘two week’ lockdown ie no mixing of households and only outdoor hospitality, they can do one unless they’ve got real life data to back it up. I never thought I’d say this but if it’s unvaccinated getting seriously ill and ending up in hospital, not those who are vaccinated/boosted, lock them down, not people who have done everything asked of them.

No chance, I'm fine and my immediate family I'm with over Xmas are fine so not going to risk any plans with a week to go!Not sure that it would if it’s just a cold but by all accounts many omicron symptoms are cold like, so maybe get a pcr anyway...but be prepared to have Xmas plans fucked if you do (don’t blame me !!!)

If it’s mild though that decisive action should be what?

Said it earlier in the thread. It will be isolating that will fuck the country up.

The fact hospital admissions and deaths are still low either proves the booster programme is going well or Omicron isn't as severe as the government/media are making out

I dont know, to be honest I posted it not that comment but more the current status of ambulances in London. Someone's loved ones will die because an ambulance cannot get there in time.If it’s mild though that decisive action should be what?
Definitely, it will be 2-3 weeks time we will start seeing the numbers of hospitalisations and deaths start to rise. At the moment its ripping through the younger and less vulnerable population. Not enough time to say that yet really. Cases only just started going up, any hospitalisations or deaths will come next.

Coventry's not goodMaybe the people of London should be looking at themselves and their willingness to get vaccinated/booster, same as some other big cities.
Coventry's not good
First dose 70%
Second dose 63%
Booster 34%
Thats well below the national average of
First dose 89%
Second dose 81%
Booster 46%

But it won’t be the unvaccinated that die because they can’t get an ambulance after a car accident or a collapse at home.Maybe the people of London should be looking at themselves and their willingness to get vaccinated/booster, same as some other big cities.
Yeah that was my point, not those with covid but those who fall ill and need quick critical treatment. But it won’t be the unvaccinated that die because they can’t get an ambulance after a car accident or a collapse at home.
3 weeks ago at our Vets football match a player collapsed at the side of the pitch - the ambulance said they couldn’t come for 2 hours. The only reason he survived was because the local police were present ( there had been some trouble with weapons the previous week) and they had a defibrillator in the back of their car. And then they still had to blue-light him to A&E.
If they weren’t on hand he’d likely have died at the side of the pitch.
The entire system is on the brink of collapse and can’t cope any longer.
You have to say we as a country are over testing, the more tests we do then of course the more cases we have which makes things look worse.
The most important figures are the hospitalisations and deaths and as far as I can see they remain low which is excellent news!

I do understand that but those around me infected only have mild symptoms. Previously a few had it bad and ended up in hospital. You’re correct though - wait and seeThere's a drag on Hospitalisations and then deaths which means we don't actually really know anything yet.
People have told you this already
Haven't they said 75%effectiveness of previous?Unfortunately I don’t know if we will find out the data to support that view as there’s a real lack of transparency. All we want to know is if you have been double jabbed, had a booster jab or had Covid recently and healthy, are you safe ?!
It’s a simple question and needs answering. Instead we get forecasts of 5000 deaths a day rammed down our throats. It’s unacceptable
Haven't they said 75%effectiveness of previous?
No Idea if that's mortality or just reduction of severe symptoms but think it's the latter
Hard luck lads to anyone's plan's going up in smoke.
That is really concerning. I thought they would prioritise something as serious as that. Things must be really bad if they can't respond to that sort of thing. But it won’t be the unvaccinated that die because they can’t get an ambulance after a car accident or a collapse at home.

This was in Northampton. As well as not being able to send an ambulance for that long the police had to take him to Kettering which is about another 12 miles away. That is really concerning. Would that stop the 400 paramedics isolating though? Would assume the majority of those are vaccinated.Maybe the people of London should be looking at themselves and their willingness to get vaccinated/booster, same as some other big cities.
It says sick - not isolating. It could be a combination of the two to be fair.Would that stop the 400 paramedics isolating though? Would assume the majority of those are vaccinated.
I just took it as 400 with covid. If it's only 400 showing symptoms with it then how many are isolating with none?It says sick - not isolating. It could be a combination of the two to be fair.
Yes most people may have mild symptoms but the larger spread could lead to more in hospital.
To use someone else's figures yet again:
Variant a infects 10 people and 1 of those people ends up in hospital
Variant b infects 50 people and 2 end up in hospital
Variant a is a more severe variant of the virus but variant b due to the transmission rate actually leads to more people ending up in hospital.
This has been explained countless times on here as well
Would that stop the 400 paramedics isolating though? Would assume the majority of those are vaccinated.
It's been turned into a blame each other game rather than blame the people who's actual job is to protect the NHS.
There should be some sort of common sense around the isolation rules. If 400 paramedics have caught covid then that's a bit worrying too.
