Magazine that exists solely on edgy scientifically unsound commentary upset edgy scientifically unsound commentary isn’t given enough attention during a pandemic.

Speccy has called just about everything wrong since this started. I seem to recall them saying it would all be over by April 2020.

Accusing others of losing their way when they themselves are wandering around aimlessly in the middle of nowhere.

Without wanting to get too graphic, was it much blood?

I coughed up a very small amount of blood a month or two ago when I was ill and thought it could be Covid. Rang 111 who arranged a call with my docs and he just said to go for a Covid test, and if it was negative then not to worry it’s probably just a chest infection. Test came back negative but I was pretty rough.

Hope you get better soon.

Don't always relate to everything you say, but as one of the sky blue family I wish you a speedy recovery and hope everything works out okay

I've got to say I will be pretty pissed off to see any return to restrictions.

1. The government has done nothing to address the long or short term capacity constraints (which are entirely of its own makings) in the health service
2 I've had my three doses of vaccine, I've adhered to restrictions (did not see any of my family in person from October 2020 until July 2021).
3. Imposing requirements for punters to sit outside on the pub and restaurant sector is just disingenuous

I assume they can then say "Well we didn't force you to close" and not help them out.
That's exactly what they're doing. According to Billboard no-shows are already running at 40% for concerts, that's in the US but you wouldn't expect it to be massively different here. How many of those people are going to be put off buying tickets for future events when they realise they don't get a refund if the show goes ahead but they don't feel its safe to attend.

They always are on a Monday. 38 last week, 41 the week before. I don't think death registrations are done over the weekend which then makes the Tuesday / Wednesday figures higher.

I don’t know why the news outlets constantly feel the need to tell us about the latest case figures anyway

Be wary of claims Covid-19 deaths “soar” on Tuesdays - Full Fact

Yep, both Sunday and Monday numbers are usually (if not always) the lowest of the week. In terms of deaths I think the figure released Sunday is from the 24 hour period between 5pm Friday to 5pm Saturday, whilst Monday is 5pm Saturday through to Sunday 5pm. Not sure if that's the same for cases, last time I looked into it there was often a 2 or 3 day lag between testing and reporting but I would assume it's got a little quicker over the past 12 months.

My point was more to illustrate that even given the weekend reporting lag there isn't any evidence of any substantial increase in deaths as yet

For me not enough of those classed as high risk have been vaccinated and have therefore been hospitalised and unfortunately passed away

The cases are high but deaths and hospitalisations remain low. It's been in the UK for three weeks now

Yeah, in additional saw Powis saying over the weekend they were planning on treating/monitoring 15% of usual hospital patients at home as well as being able to treat 1.3m high risk patients with the anti virals. I thought that they didn’t have that much of antivirals but that’s what was reported. Both positive
