She'd find it difficult to say anything with her tongue up Johnson's arse.

Is she a known Tory member and activist? Like Crick?

They are biased

Can you see Laura Kuensberg saying “fuck the Labour Party” at a right wing youth gathering?

Crick was there for 8 years? He’s a Labour Party activist isn’t he?
If being biased we’re a sport ‘Laura Kuensberg’ would knock Tory Grande
‘Andrew Neil’ Out of the park.
And that’s some swing........

Robinson is.

No way you can say with a straight face Corbyn gets the same treatment if he misses target after target and resides over the high death rate.

And if in the midst of all that if a picture one of his side kicks book shelves appeared in the media with a David Irving book on the shelf we all know what the reaction would have been

Its not about reporting it in the way I like, it’s not even about repotting it in a politically biased
fashion, they merely report the news and ask the difficult questions of the Government that
other news agencies constantly shy away from.

In the same way you regard the daily mail as right wing propaganda, channel 4 could be regarded as left wing propaganda.

Found it quite odd where he got a soft focus 1hour 1on1 with her before May had gone I think .
Can't recall anyone else getting that kind of plug in recent memory .
She's royalty in the pack these days .
Very hostile towards Corbyn in the early day's .
To the point I think she's had to remake herself as slightly softer when going for the jugular .
She was like a frigin wasp when on his case.

Robinson hasn’t for years. Kuensburg is in my view far more critical of the government than the opposition. Neil is scrupulous in his dealings with anyone

If you're been totally honest, no way Corbyn would have got off as lightly as either Johnson has on many issues recently.
The PPE, the missed tests, calling the handling of the pandemic a success while numbers were soaring.
He'd have got rinsed, and rightly so.

The press have been frankly embarrassing and as I've said before anyone who cares about a functioning democracy and accountability should be concerned.

I think Corbyn would have got hammered more, but probably not as much as you think it goes.

As I said, there is media bias, but blaming election defeats and such as down to this is deflection. It's a small slither and an excuse for said party being too weak and not accepting reality.

The result wasn't even close in the end anyway.

It's not that Corbyn wasn't as good as Boris, it was that Boris wasn't as bad as Corbyn.

Didn’t a Daily Mail, that’s Daily Mail, reporter accuse Laura Kuensberg of tweeting anything Cummings told her unedited and unchecked. Basically accused her of failing to do the basic journalism.

yes I saw that I think, was it Peston as well? It became pretty common knowledge that her main source was Cummings, she was getting the piss taken out of her due to the way she stopped referring to her “sources” when Cummings disappeared recently.

I think he did say Peston as well now you say that.

Right im sticking my neck on the line and saying i reckon this was the second wave.

The more i read about the COVID positive blood samples from other countries now not just France in December the more i reckon a load have had it and the virus mutated.

Would also explain why football is returning in germany, italy and spain who got smashed just as badly as us getting back to normality also.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist far from it, but wouldn't surprise me if this is also the understanding of governments now this information has come to light.

Even in the U.K through December and January flu deaths were up eightfold and pneumonia deaths 3 times higher than the yearly average. Was just put down to a particularly bad season

No it isn’t ‘it’s pointing out that ‘Lara Kusneberg’ Takes being biased to a new level.
It would be unrealistic ‘even unreasonable to expect political journalists to not harbour
Political beliefs ‘one way or the other’ same as it would be to expect a football referee
To not support a particular team, it shouldn’t matter ‘they should carry out their duties
With honestly and integrity.

you’re not the only saying that, and I don’t see how it’s a conspiracy theory, it seems quite rational to me- we know for sure the virus was in Europe in December, before the Chinese reported their first case. Nobody knows for sure but you may well be right.

I have definitely had similar thoughts to you on this.

The day the vote went Leave there was never ever going to be a way to reverse it.... just wish we’d not gone down the line of trying to block it, because although it was the will of the membership it was so far out of step with the electorate we needed to hold AND win.
But most didn't understand this at the time. It was why I said we should have gone full out to stop it or just let it go on. We ended up not appealing to anyone. We didn't get the.leave or remain vote.

It just seems to be pointing in that direction doesnt it? A lot of the research showing this to be the case now. Im glad I'm not the only one of that opinion to be honest

Found this if anyone wants a brief look

I don't really agree with that at all.

There is bias, of course there is. You get it on both sides though.

I think this is part of the problem though. Whilst I detest the tories personally, the electorate continue to reject labour and this isn't just down to what is printed in the Daily Mail.

There needs to be ownership and acceptance that the efforts the other parties have put forward in both candidates and policies are not good enough to topple the tory reign, even though them themselves are shite.

There are quite a few posters on here who do accept it however and I welcome that honesty and reflection. That kind of attitude will only improve their favoured party and give them a chance in the future perhaps.

Look to the USA for example. I don't think Trump would have won if his opposition candidate was half decent. It seems they didn't learn their lesson as this time it isn't Hillary but someone who is also a bit of a joke.

As I said earlier, I am delusioned with politics these days anyway. I really don't think any of them represent me.
Couldn't agree more.

I just hope Startmer shows the Tories for what they are and at the same time start to unite his own party. I didn't vote in the last GE. The only time I haven't voted. But nobody was worth my vote. Wouldn't take a lot to get my vote again. But a bit more will be needed with the floating voters.

I find the whole parliament thing uninteresting but I did watch some today just to see this Starmer guy in action, and I have to say he was good, he just forensically dissects Johnson with ease. He was quoting facts and figures and as we know, Boris doesn’t have a clue on facts and figures. But it counts for nothing ultimately, there is a long time before any election.

The thing I remember most about Laura Kuenssberg is the look on her face when she announced that the postal votes were looking good for the Conservatives and how pleased she was.
There was controversy over that as well wasn’t there,
She announced or ‘let it be known’ that postal vote results we’re going against Labour,
Whilst the election was still on. Or something like that :emoji_thinking:

They've well and truly fucked this right up. Honesty and Integrity is a two way street. Where's the honesty and integrity from the Tories? PPE is still a joke, more people are dying here than anywhere else, yet the Tories will try and sugarcoat this shit. Fuck the Tories mate!

Starmer will run rings around most present Tories. He has the truth on his side. And all news outlets will only defend the Tories for so long. Rags like The Sun change their alliance with who the public prefer at the time. It sells papers. It will most probably be Boris bashing time soon.

I haven't blamed the election defeat on the media I admitted Labour got the manifesto wrong.
Though the Tory manifesto was not scrutinised in anywhere near the same way even though it was full of similar bold promises with lit the detail I. But their big message was get Brexit done and it played well.
And Corbyn definitely would have got hammered as much as I'm making out. Absolutely.

Where did you get your flu death figures from? Be interested to see that.
I definitely think it was here earlier than we realised but I was thinking perhaps a less virulent strain.
Those pneumonia and flu figures would seem to back up your theory but I'm sure someone on here said flu deaths weren't up around Christmas.
As I've said before, like you, I had anecdotal evidence it was here earlier thsn thought based on people I knew or knew of being ill with symptoms of COVID around Christmas,
