Driving on a road with false plates as well?

It's fucking pathetic, people trying to make themselves famous off the back of it.

Why? To try and show they love VE day more than everybody else?

ti's a bit traditional isn't it?
Not my cup of tea but its' something that's always been done. Although not sure how they'll maintain social distancing though it probably won't matter as I think it's going to be a free for all Monday as people seem to think slight easing of lock down constitutes a party time.

The government need to be very, very clear with their message on Sunday.

Yeah but tradition has gone to the window nowadays.

It will be so people can post it all over facebook and make it about them.

Kier Starmer making the point that care homes are full of people that are from the VE generation and on a day we’re celebrating that the people that survived it have been abandoned.

The VE stuff is a modern phenomena isn't it? I don't think anybody who actually experienced the war would really partake in something as crass as this will end up.

Did you see Ireland has been raising money for Native Americans as they’re another section of American society that’s been abandoned by the apparent richest nation in the world. It seems in the Irish potato famine Native Americans sent money to Ireland so they’re returning the favour.

Even in the U.K through December and January flu deaths were up eightfold and pneumonia deaths 3 times higher than the yearly average. Was just put down to a particularly bad season

Dont know where you’ve got that stat but it’s not true. Here’s the governments flu reports for Dec and Jan and only the last week of Jan was there any statistically significant increase in mortality across any age group: UK flu levels according to PHE statistics: 2019 to 2020

This shows all deaths for the first three months of the year are below five year averages including flu and pneumonia deaths specifically: Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional - Office for National Statistics

Relevant graph for the lazy:

I think it’s been done before on landmark dates like the 50th - it’s always had far more acknowledgement than VJ Day and that seems strange I suppose as the war was still going on with many uk troops involved

Get a BB Gun and shoot at him, in support of the keyworkers (obviously).

It's all elevenerife type stuff.

Oh dear, looks like the right wing fake news machine is running again:

Not just the right in fairness.
Starmer changed Labour's stance on Kashmir in the last week, apparently to 'woo British Indians.'

Is that the route we want to go down as a party? How is it playing out in UK Indian communities? Let's have an adult discussion - nah, let's make up some bullshit about a short video clip.

The fucking world we live in.

Haven't posted in here for well over a week.

Does Grendel still think the Tories are doing a good job?

I presume his 'would you rather be in Italy?' line has been quoted over and over again.

Apologies if already posted, but if you read this and still think Boris lad is doing a good job then you are not right in the head

How Boris Johnson refused to fight the virus
The timeline in that article is frightening. How anyone can think this government has done a good job is a complete abandonment of common sense. I’m not even talking about in hindsight. Just look at the timeline. While other governments were cancelling major gatherings and closing schools Boris took his pregnant girlfriend to twickenham to watch a Rugby match with 83,000 other people. Ireland cancelled st Patrick’s day, Boris allows Cheltenham to go ahead where an estimated 250,000 people attended.

They've well and truly fucked this right up. Honesty and Integrity is a two way street. Where's the honesty and integrity from the Tories? PPE is still a joke, more people are dying here than anywhere else, yet the Tories will try and sugarcoat this shit. Fuck the Tories mate!

Thing is although we're going to see a massive recession due to exceptional circumstances, when we go back to anything like normal we'll also see unprecedented growth. Bet they'll whack that into an future election guff about how well they rebounded the economy even if it's an overall contraction. Fact is even the Greens would lead us to unprecedented growth when things open back up.

I'm making early preparations for the 600th anniversary of the end of the 100 years war in 2053.

They are just dropping bollock after bollock. Even this contact tracing app thing. After rejecting Apple and google they are now looking to use them as the NHS one would be illegal. Why wasn’t that worked out before pushing ahead and making a big song and dance about it? Are they genuinely thick or on a wind up.

I mean I can guess why they wanted to go with their own as all the data was centralised and would probably be sold on to the highest bidder but I’ll leave that until my next Tesco delivery comes in with some more tinfoil.

Also the VE Day stuff. I’ll admit this could be my own issue but I couldn’t even tell you the date and it’s never ever even crossed my mind before. Something to do these days though isn’t it.
