Well our work has sent a message round saying continue to work from home until told otherwise, and to ignore rumours etc. about returning to work. I know at some stage they'll end up putting a plan in place, but I find it strangely reassuring they're not hurtling towards it and are at least thinking about what to do.

Some councils intent on defying the school returns

My work mentioned it for the first time last week. Just said they’ll wait until the majority are back.

Anyone aged 5 and over is now eligible for a test if they have symptoms. Now I’m sure this is flexible but my lad is 4. Youngest in his year and won’t be 5 until the middle of August.

Let's bring quarantine rules for incoming people months too late and yes let's make load of countries exempt anyway.

But stay positive

What’s the explanation? Clearly it’s not just care homes we’re doing badly on compared to other countries.

Over confidence on riding it out at home given the original advice?.
Ethnicity ?
I think that's similar across EU?

Good to see infections reduce and deaths lower. I know it’s Monday for the deaths. I think those graphs make very grim reading
The trend is flattening though so that is not good. Bad figures tomorrow and it almost plateaues

Was just reading that in The Times, re-read it several times as I thought I was missing something. Not even due to start until next month, literally months behind other countries and we’re already talking about relaxing it.
The quarantining on all arrivals into the UK could be relaxed as ministers look at plans to focus on travellers from high-risk countries.

It's like they seem to think you can't catch it in a low risk country

Which is interesting because the kids haven’t been able to transmit it recently due to being locked down. In the meantime we’ve been getting 3/4/5 K cases a day from the adults. Definitely the right time to let the kids loose then.

Also interesting because Dr G told us it was negligible

Is there any evidence it’s more risky for you as an individual than a footballer to return to work?

Been out and about today for work and seen a lot of people not showing common sense. Regrettably as a biker currently on sabbatical I have to say I’m talking about motorcyclist. Groups of bikers riding around which although not strictly allowed I don’t personally have a problem with. What I do have issue with is though is everytime I saw a group pulled up at services of petrol station all their helmets were off and social distancing was being ignored while they were socialising. Witnessed this about six times today, all people old enough to know better as well.

So yesterday we were being told that the cure will be here in September and today the chief medical officer tells us in the conference "We may have to learn to live with this virus for months if not years,"

Which is it? Stop playing games with peoples hopes.

I saw the mail headline September for millions of us is that not true then?

No one is claiming it is true and its a very optimistic scenario. The face that air travel is seemingly starting to open up next month tells you a more realistic version - no one said this would happen in September

Question to anyone that's had coronavirus.

I woke up in the early hours with a really painful stomach and a case of the runs. It's carried on a bit throughout the day.

It was only after some effortful searching that it looks to be a potential symptom.

Can anyone that's had it verify? I cannot think what I would have eaten that would have given this reaction. It was a really rough morning.

The business secretary apparently said yesterday that we’re on track for a vaccine in September, I assume that’s what the Mail has reported. Today we’ll have to live with it for months if not years. What a difference a day makes.

The testing at Moderna in the us looks more promising. They are running safety testing on a group of 45 humans for a new vaccine tailored direct at SARS2 and made from it's genetic material.

It has passed the safety trials and they have randomly selected 8 of the 45 trial subjects to test for antibodies and all have antibodies present in their systems at levels similar to recovered patients.

Proper testing will start in July and will take months and there is unlikely to be a workable vaccine in 2020 and we still.need to establish how long antibody imunity lasts for but this is actually positive.
