Nope. We're in a middle of an international emergency and he's hiding away. He literally is a spineless part time PM.Why isn’t Johnson taking the press briefings now he’s back at work?
Has he been seen in public at all other than PMQs and his previous recorded briefing? I haven’t been paying attention, just seem to hear very little from him. Is he still ill?
Meaning?Ridicule is nothing to be scared of

Or the normal answer would be well done to Captain Tom instead of trying to pin it on something else, it isn’t hard to say well done on something deserved"The daily briefing has been a disaster, what can we do to distract people"
Captain Tom awarded knighthood for NHS fundraising

Varsity said:A leaked email seen by Varsity outlines plans for all lectures in the 2020-21 academic year to be conducted virtually.
Head of Education Services, Alice Benton wrote to Senior Tutors today to inform them that the ‘General Board’s Education Committee’ has ‘agreed that, since it is highly likely that rigid social distancing will be required throughout the next academic year, there will be no face-to-face lectures next year.’
Benton writes that the ‘decision has been taken to provide a degree of certainty to facilitate Faculties and Departments when planning for educational delivery next academic year’ and proposes that the move is ‘in line with thinking across the sector’.
Seems Cambridge University, home to some of the countries leading epidemiologists and virologists who are working with the government on the coronavirus modelling and response have decided that it no lectures are to take place before at least summer 2021.
But its fine for primary schools to reopen in a couple of weeks.
I assume that’s just lectures and not tutorials?
Looks like schools might not open anyway, Guardian reporting another possible u turn.
I was under the impression that Cambridge taught mainly through tutorials and not lectures anyway. Lectures are the public events rather than the course - it's all very different at Oxbridge!Apparently they're looking at ways of holding small tutorial groups that maintain social distancing.
If that's going to be neccessary for another year then several industries are going to be absolutely decimated. Football being one of them

Proper shitIt needs to hurry up and fuck off.

Problem is they have to, they need the money. Expect international students fees income to slump!Warwick is planning to have students back in autumn for start of year, although in what capacity remains to be seen. I don't expect big lectures to be held until after Christmas at least though
Yeah. Some bands and players could retire due to old age before we get the chance to see them again at this rate!I can't help but think we're going to have to live with it for a good while and it's going to be about limiting damage.
Two things I love in life, football and live music, aren't going to be the same for a long time.
My youngest’s school wrote to us yesterday saying that she would be in for 3 half days every other week in classes of ten and never leave their desk accept for toilet break. What’s the point.Seems that both Labour and Conservative councils are saying they won't open schools on the 1st of June

It will be interesting to see the appetite for either starting out online or a blended learning type approach from all students but International in particular.Problem is they have to, they need the money. Expect international students fees income to slump!

With the re-introduction of student number caps then this may actually help universities as this may deter UK students from deferring their places until next year.
Just going through the live feed on the BBC’s website and apparently the Times is reporting that the government is being forced into a U turn on schools by their scientists who say that the track and trace systems needs to be up and working and effective before the schools can reopen.
Bloody lazy bastard teachers. We were due to be briefed on the return of Y10 and 12 today. Guess the government’s incompetence is about to put paid to that
Yep, already said they need to make a saving of £50m for 20/21 which could be a worryProblem is they have to, they need the money. Expect international students fees income to slump!
Yeah. I'm local authority, Mrs Wisdom is university. Up until now we've been relatively insulated from it all, but if cuts are coming...Yep, already said they need to make a saving of £50m for 20/21 which could be a worry

Even one of my other jobs relies on funding which has now been spent by the funding bodies in propping up projects already in place, so no cash for new ones.
The sector is going to take a massive hit and even pre-COVID we were hearing names of Uni’a that were on the brink but now with this and the OFS’ supposed hardline stance I will be amazed if at least a handful of Uni’s go bust!Yep, already said they need to make a saving of £50m for 20/21 which could be a worry
FactDon’t you know we get 51 weeks holiday a year and always clock out at 3?
