Yep, they say the trick is to go and book at 8pm as that's when the next batch of new slots gets uploaded

if it is a productive cough it is probably not covid. If it is on the chest not the throat and not productive, it may be

it seems so. My missus gave up last week but whatever she had has cleared up so I think it was just a bug but they've got no chance of getting on top of it if people can't find out one way or another.

Then we make do, I'm lucky enough to work from home but I feel for people who can't.

Appreciate what you’re saying but again this is where the governments messaging has been poor....it’s not that it’s suddenly dangerous to go to work (although for some jobs ie high/close public interaction ie supermarkets it is obviously a higher risk of contageon than others) unless you/your close family are higher risk...the advice/measures are solely to try to slow the spread down again

unfortunately as I say the messaging/reasoning hasn’t been the clearest, then the media/social media whip your further panic and we end up with people locking themselves away (and not getting treatments for more serious diseases/illnesses, getting mental health issues etc etc)

I won’t get into the whole testing discussion again. We should have a bit more capacity by now and I believe the government should be working on a referral system online or through 111 again (those with obvious Covid symptoms and/or that have been in close contact with someone who has Covid) not everyone just trying to book a test themselves !

It goes without saying that if everyone is trying to get a test for Covid like symptoms (some similar to cold) no capacity will be enough over autumn/winter.

I don't really think pertaining risk profiles to individual postcodes in densely population cities makes all that much sense. I'd suggest it should have two levels, Coventry is a high risk place due to having some high risk areas. CV3 is a medium risk in itself but people must exercise caution. The virus doesn't understand postcode boundaries and people don't tend to live, work and socialise within them either.

Well, after 2 and a bit hours of refreshing, appointments appeared. A fair few of them as well. Seems that it’s not just an 8pm release, so credit where it’s due I suppose.

Aye, that's why the app isn't the only solution. Traditional T&T + an app. Same with any other health tech.

Yes I agree but I think they went for simplicity and the idea that you might feel you have more influence over your more local postcode - a "tell your neighbours" principle. I think there's a "smoothing" function over the risk scores so that each postcode's risk is affected by those near to it.

So the wage top scheme means the state will pay a maximum of 22% of salary towards it being the onus is on the employer to pick up the slack.

Can see the bloodbath of job loses being that much effected by this.

I suppose that hinges on whether the app is actually useful at the levels who will take it up, and that level will obviously be less, the less people who are able to take it up.

Now I don't have the answers to that, so I'm not going to comment either way...

Even at 15 % it’s effective but not as effective. It’s one of those things if you can convince your networks to use it it will reduce your risk or getting it or passing it on

Have to say... my networks (parents and many work colleagues) aren't able to download it, because their phone technology is too out of date!

Looks like I'll be bluetoothing away to myself, and Mrs Wisdom (not sure if her phone can do it until she gets home from work!!)

Obviously if out it may have a use.

no but phones from 2015 can use qr codes and have bluetooth so you can simplify the process for them
