I always said I would back him if he sticks to his 10 pledges. He's not doing it.
It's pointless voting for some one just because they happen to be Labour if it's not going to effect actual change.
And as for the left taking it's medicine, you think people's money going into a party 5hat had people actively working against the leadership should just be forgotten about - not going to happen. That was Tory enabling writ large right there.
Sorry, agreed, the hospitalisations are a decent comparison/comparable.
ps rumours that Christmas rules could change. Not sure if I agree with that or not. I’d prefer to arm people with all the relevant info and allow them to make considered choices (as a lot will do anyway) but I guess some will just hear ‘I can mix with everyone for 5 days’
...you pair of double wrong bastards....
... only the left-handed right-footed shall inherit the earth.....
Mate. I want left wing goals. I’m just not in the weird cult. Given a choice between Corbyns manifesto and Blair’s its Corbyns all day long. Just to be clear on my position.
But you (and the vast majority of the left) seem to have forgotten what game we’re playing. Oh boo hoo some party members were mean. And many lefties have been mean. So fucking what? Suck it up.
No one care about this shite outside of very left wing spaces. We’re trying to win elections here. What you gonna do? You gonna fuck off to Corbyns Pyjama Party and have righteous Zoom meetings about how mean centrists are? Push the left further and further into oblivion?
The Labour electorate are the soft left. They want to be left but want to win more. You have two choices: take your ball and go home and feel ace posting on Twitter while the country slides to the right, or out your big boy pants on, accept the lefts messaging and priorities have been a shit show, accept the electorate soundly rejected Corbyn if not Corbynism, and start seriously looking like you want to win elections and enact change instead of constantly whining and throwing a tantrum.
Most Labour members are “centrists” or “on the right”. This is the central delusion of the left. You’re either with them or you’re right wing scum. It’s fucking nonsense and all it does is keep left wing ideas on the fringe because building consensus and winning elections is Blairite or some such shite.
Piss and moan all you like but reality is you either go right wing economically a la Blair or you go conservative socially a la Blue Labour to win in this country. Pick one, or don’t complain when the adults do.
Starmer has done nothing wrong sonspsre me the “oh I tried but he’s just so evil” crap. He’s pulled out polling out the gutter and is doing all the hard work needed to detoxify us after the absolute well of shit Corbyn left us in. If you don’t want to be part of that then fine, but enjoy being politically irrelevant for the rest of your days.
As I say to my ten year old: it may be unfair, other people may be mean, but you can only control yourself. So get that in order first.
I don’t disagree with a lot of what you are saying here but a free points to add.Mate. I want left wing goals. I’m just not in the weird cult. Given a choice between Corbyns manifesto and Blair’s its Corbyns all day long. Just to be clear on my position.

Saw on Facebook a map of local authorities with the purported new Tiers on. It still has Cov & Warks as Tier 3, in fact practically the entire Midlands aside from the rural Tory voting bits like Shropshire, Hereford and Worcestershire.
Tory heartlands Surrey, Essex etc still Tier 3 despite case numbers higher than many Tier 2 areas.
Lateral Flowing testing now open to the Coventry public from tomorrow at Priory Hall at Cov Uni (just opposite the Cathedral). No appointment needed and only available to people with NO symptoms.
I went and did mine the other week and got my results back within 45 minutes so if people are concerned about meeting elderly relatives over Christmas then taking this test prior to meeting them would certainly help reduce the risk of passing it on.
He would. He got their support because he was the breath of fresh air the country needed. And he was (is) a great speaker, too.Do we think Blair would have won without support from the Murdoch papers? I’m intrigued to know peoples thoughts as I was still in school at that point so maybe not aware to the mood of the country at that time?

It is disappointing that we again haven't been able to get a genuine leftwing manifesto delivered through labour.Do we think Blair would have won without support from the Murdoch papers? I’m not saying he only won because of that endorsement (even though they declared it themselves at the time)It is disappointing that we again haven't been able to get a genuine leftwing manifesto delivered through labour.
But I think he was the last leader with any genuine wisdom.
Surestart would have been a resounding success media played it's part but it was also the man himself, and I do think the job was done on Corbyn too,so much against that agenda getting the chance of a hearing in this nation unfortunately.

Left hander here ,What about us left handed AND left footed? Right handed in cricket though
Left hander here ,
My work left handed ,eat right handed, play guitar right handed (only one song)
Left footed
I'm not sure someone who set the world alight and lead to the creation of ISIS can be credited with that much wisdom to be honest.
Have you listened to The Faultline? Recent (I believe) podcast series on the Iraq war.
Written press was a much bigger animal back then. Would have been difficult to win without them.Do we think Blair would have won without support from the Murdoch papers? Looks like they've probably had restriction fatigueWhat's gone wrong in Germany? Over 800 dead today. 333 was their highest during the first wave and they had less than 800 total throughout June, July, August, September and October combined.
Bit of fatigue but it's hard not to think schools remaining open this time has had a big effect in many European countries. Our numbers in Hungary of infections and deaths are way ahead of the first wave when everything basically shut. This time schools for those under 14 have stayed open. Germany have kept the school's open up until this week. What's gone wrong in Germany? More political games from the Tory scumbagsAppears 90% of school's in Basildon are shut.
No threat of legal action.
Decision made by school governor's
It's absolutely ludicrous school's are open this week.

Yes 100%.
The press are weather vanes not kingmakers.

If there's a case in a school this week doesn't that mean you then have to isolate over Christmas?
Seems a ridiculous thing to pick an argument over. Even if you're all for keeping schools open no matter what we're talking about four days, does that really make a huge difference to kids education given what's been happening the last 12 months?
